The Road Conditions Today On My Run.

Recommended Posts

Went for a wee run in the rain to clear all the mud from the underbody and arches after a week in Ullapool and Sutherland to find conditions very slippy indeed.

Left London Road Shell with a white STI passing as i was paying, headed to the clyde valley, got tailed by a bugeye Blue who headed for the 74.

Took the Stonehouse to Strathaven road then strathaven to galston to find a freelander rolled in the middle of the road in front of me.

He clipped a puddle on the inside and dragged him in but they were all ok.

Then headed from galston to Eaglesham moor road to find an elise who was heading to todays track day at Knockers buried in a hedge after coming over a crest and losing it about a mile passed Louden castle.

It was a bit of a mess but the guys were ok,i did offer to wait and give them a seat in the car as it was pashing it down but they said they were ok.

Hope its not too expensive a repair guys a tidy blue number before the prang.

then the best bit was a young lady in a mini cooper at the roundabout at the bottom of Eaglesham heading back from Ikea with a roof full of self assebly furniture, as i was going to turn right she was motoring and left the braking a bit late, slammed on the anchors ( i stopped mid roundabout in case she overshot) then all the flat pack furniture burst through the non waterproof cardboard packaging.

Melamine everywhere.

After that i went home and locked up the scoob, three times lucky was enough for me.

How was your day!!

:D blimey.

Took a very easy trip to Linwood (I was in the Scenic though!). Lots of flooding on the roads.

Yesterday afternoon we headed over to the west end and saw a couple of smashes.

One on the M8 at the exit towards the clyde tunnel (coming from the airport) where one car was

in lane 3 and the other 2 were on the hard shoulder.

And then within a couple of hundred yards from the clyde tunnel, one car was on my side, I saw damage to the

central reservation and another car on the other side.

Either it was a coincidence that both had crashed on opposite sides of the road or one had flipped over!

Saw a few cars on the EK expressway that were all queued up like they'd had some sort of set to or stramash. The wind was howling last night about Midnight. The car was getting buffeted about all over the shop.

Car on fire on the 74 on Friday night too. The one point of the weekend when it wasn't raining and the people in that could have been doing with it.

You went right past my house then on your wee run !

What a day for crashes /near misses though, people getting caught out fair bit it seems.

Was over in Dunoon and the rain was pelting down on route...ferry over okay but on way back a little less stable ! Some traction issue at one point on the M8 !

Dare I even say I think the pothole are not quite as bad these days....they just need to work on the drainage as I think there's more huge puddles about ??

Slid out at on the Arden roundabout near helensburgh yesterday in mum's vectra estate. Was going normal slow speed for the roundabout but pulled the wheel a bit harshly and away we went ;) never even got a fright when it happened, I just fixed it and went on my way. Was about 3 seconds after i reclaimed my steering that i realised what i had done and how lucky the mazda trying to pull out in front of me was!! Gerard has decided the vectra needs new tyres :boldblue::) went all slow the rest of the way to the airport and back again, feart of the mother in law's response if i pranged her baby :icon_salut:

Lovely day - lashing rain and howling wind and I was standing out in it !!!

sounds pleasant whatever you were doing, i was on my way to michael mcintyre :) he was brilliant and after had the pleasure of driving home in the gales, puddles & tree debrit.
