the squiggle
After 10 years plus with DHL i have came to the conclusion enough is a enough and if i dont find something else soon then i end up doing time for knocking my AM supervisor the f*ck out. Almost got to the point of phoning them to tell them to collect thier van as it seems to be on the Kingston Bridge with the engine running with no driver, as he has had enough s**** that he has abondoned the van Micheal Douglas style I get on fine with everyone else in my work apart from this scroat who is hellbent on twisting everything i say back against me. Any advise on where may be looking for workers or what is the best retailer for rat poison or indeed what would be a suitable next career move for a hard working driver that can fix cars. Loaded with the cold so feeling a bit worse for wear at the moment but i know for sure for the sake of my mental health and his physical health i need to find something else sooner rather than later Link to comment

zeolite
Grant..Not much help I am afraid apart from some sympathy as I too have a little scrote for a supervisor. What makes it worse is that he was a trainee of mine as well. Every second conversation with him ends up as a shouting match. I used to think I was laid back Anyway my solution is to bugger off to Malaysia. Will be living in KL next year. Teree makasee Link to comment
wilky
HR is your friend. Ensure there are always witnesses when he brings you down and twists what you say and ensure others know beforehand what was really said. Keep a diary of what happens and those who were present. And when you have enough report him with your evidence. No one likes a bully and paint it like that, you are being bullied. The secret to that approach is to have somewhere to go if it goes pete tong. If its cured all good and well. If its not at least you have a job to go to. I would suggest Royal Mail of Parcel farce. Alternatively you could have him done over. Good luck dude Callum Link to comment
RA Dunk
What about a driving instructor Grant. Keep working and do the training while you work I got paid off earlier on in the year and being a bit of a petrol head and seeing an advert for RED on TV I decided i would look into becoming a driving instructor, why not make a living out of something i enjoy doing ehh, I applied online at RED (also known as TIC The Instructor College) driving school and within 10 minutes they phoned me up for an interview the very next day! Attended interview all was well they asked me to come back the following week for a second interview and to take a driving examiner out for a spin so he could assess my driving skills, All went well during the second interview and he praised my driving during the wee run we had telling me i was an excellent driver considering how long it had been since i sat my test, when we got back to the office we were discusing costs etc, Think they were looking for something like 4K in total with a couple of options to pay one of them being 2 k or something similar up front and they would provide me with the other 2k as finance , even though i was unemployed this guy doing the interview couldent get me to sign up quick enough and even started organising the loan before i said yes Alarm bells started ringing in my head straight away so i told the guy i would get back to him and got the feck out of dodge!! Went home and did a simple search on google with RED driving school, heres the results, some of them make pretty intresting reading http://forums.gumtree.com/topic270324.html http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index...18130229AAkwZ2U http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&p=725385 http://www.ukadi.co.uk/2008/06/becoming-dr...dont-do-it.html http://boards.thisismoney.co.uk/tim/thread...&msRange=15 Usefull site http://www.squidoo.com/driving_instructors Link to comment

If i can find something, even stacking shelves would do, then i will drop him right in the **** when i do depart. Drivning Instructor interests me and i will look into this more. Getting my Class 1 has always been my career goal and this scrotum is just making something happen sooner rather than later. As for the last bit of advice, it is truly astounding what you can get in exchange for for supplying a junkie with a bag of smack. I know i am a better person than him and that i am being bullied and now is the time to move on Link to comment
4Hero
Record all issues Grant, keep yourself clean, see if anyone else has issues with him (if they do get them to note issues also). Once you have your **** together take to higher level. This happened with me, the "scrote" was fired Link to comment

A consultation with an employment lawyer might not go a miss. You've invested 10 yrs of your life in that job/company, and your issues are with one individual rather than DHL. Don't throw it away because of one A-Hole as these people just move onto the next "victim". If you take the right course of action, he'll be the one finding it difficult to get another job. sti pretender
What about swapping a yellow van for another yellow van, AA (or RAC) might suit you, driving helping people, bit of banter and using a bit of mechanical knowledge. http://www.theaacareers.com/ Link to comment
Joe G
Keep the chin up Grant. Found myself in the same position a couple of years back with the captain of my boat at the time. Turned everythin around i said and made every trip a complete misery!!! Took me all my time not to knock his head off his shoulders! Bit my tongue the majority of the time and did another 2 trips when out of the blue a job on the northlink ferries came up. applied for it and got it. Went back for the last trip and had great delight in telling him to shove his boat up his AR5E!! Something will spring up out of the blue!! Recon the AA would be a good 1 for ya all the same Joe Link to comment

x444wrx
Grant bud i feel for you mate. Ive just chucked in the towl as a Tesco store manager after 13 years loyal service without even as much as a day off sick.Im not even going to waste my breath talking about my manager as he knows they have bullied and harrassed me out a job over the course of the last 2 years. Get in touch with ACAS and also your union if you have one also seek legal advice from an employment law specialist, you can raise a grievance against the tw*t as your company should have some sort of disciplinary process. No matter how hard it is keep your cool mate and always make sure the ball is in your court. Make sure you have something to go to for definate especially in the current climate. Then you can always leave on good terms and with a parting shot. All i've ever done was work for Tescos so when people work for companies it hard to move on usually from jobs we found satisfying or rewarding and there are always emotional loyalties there. I made the biggest decission of my life so far telling these wan*ers to ram it and actually when all the stress is gone and things calm down you can really reflect, but honestly pal make sure you have other offers on the table even if it means enduring a bit more and applying for everything and anything as you can do anything you want too mate. Im the same didnt have a clue what else to do but career change im going to work for a builders merchants, but im determind to do it and make it work for me and the mrs to be. I'll never forget or forgive for the hastle we had and the way they made us feel especially leading up to our wedding in a couple of weeks time but there is always light at the end of the tunnel, keep your chin up.............and remember their day will come, what comes around goes around. www.acas.org.uk Link to comment
corsa
Sorry for being ot but Mr X444WRX, did i meet you at the Tesco/Esso in Lochgilphead once? i built the darn place?? Just wondering as seem to remember having a conversation with somebody up there and speaking about Nigel Willis of Highland heathers? Anyway, no jobs going at our place Grant or i would have given you a shout. Davie Link to comment
StrikE
Nope that's not right Grant, he is in the wrong. I know saying stick with it is hard but do as others have said log everything this tw@t says. He actually sounds jealous of you. If you leave because of a person at a job i think you will regret the decision and subsequently never forget it! I know someone very close to myself that left a brilliant job solely on the harassment encountered by a 'line manager' and has regretted it ever since, and that was Tesco's also!!! Circumnavigate this problem supervisor, contact a higher DHL authority outwith your local depot to avoid 'anything getting back' too soon to the aforementioned supervisor. Has this person acted harshly to others at work, have you asked you fellow workmates [only the ones you trust as not to get 'stabbed in the back'] for help? I know i know you have probably gone through all of this but don't let this Muppet 'win' Del PS. once you get him fired go work for the AA/RAC Grant, i think you are more than capable buddy. Chin up Grant we all think the world of you buddy Link to comment

thefastone
Blimey mate. Theres some good advice here, but you just need to weigh up whether there is another direction that you wanted to take anyway. if there was, then this might just be your cue, the sign as it were. Because sometimes its easy to get settled into a job, you know it, your comfortable, you dont want to move. and if thats the case, then thats fine, its what makes you happy. But if moving on is not really what you want, and its only for the want of one little jumped up *****, then I say that you have options.... There are ways and means, and I'm pretty sure that bullying is not something that should be tolerated, in any level. Either way, I'd not do anything drastic, if he;s as big a ****er as you say, then it should just be a case of letting him bury himself. sounds like he just needs a leg up.... arch
Grant this is one i can possibly help you with, and at the same time give you the ammo to bend him over and shove something large where the sun dont shine. The problem with people like him is they work on the assumption that most people dont know their rights, what you need is a union rep who might just be able to point you in the right direction There are specific processes that you need to follow and follow them correctly and most of the advice above while helpful is not 100% correct, drop me a message if you want some help Edited September 6, 2009 by Arch Link to comment
