Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of the new wheels, tyres and mudflaps I fitted today, and many thanks to Arch for the loan of his spacers :crying: .

I'll go along to The Villiage and get a set tomorrow now I know they're required.

Cheers, I didn't want to go colour-coded for the splitter and mudflaps as I'd seen a few other nice looking bugs with black contrasting against the WR blue :crying: .

:D I know what you mean about the STi decals on the mudflaps. I'll give them a while to see if they grow on me, or they'll be swiftly removed.

Like the wheels look really good what's next ;)

I'm gonna get a few parking dents sorted out and then it's gonna be time to think about fitting a load of stuff in preparation for a wee trip to Port Seaton over the winter me thinks B) ?

Sorry for being a nose ache, but why did you need spacers, and what thickness did you use, 5mm?

No probs Phil :boldblue: .

With the STi having 4-pot Brembos on the front you need a wheel with an offset of ET45 for them to clear the callipers (But only just though).

I thought the Tarmac wheels I bought had an offset of 45, but turns out they're only ET48. I fitted a pair of 3mm spacers (About £10), which gives the brakes 1-2mm of clearance, and brings the offset back to the desired 45.

I think the bigger the offset, the less clearance you have? I did have a good diagram explaining exactly what all the wheel dimension actually translate to. I'll see if I can dig it out.

Cheers,

Phil

Ah, I see. Yep, real pain when you order up rims and most sites advise 18" rims clear Brembo's only to find the ET is just a likkle to close for comfort. Thanks for the info. I've got a pair of 5mm spacers you can have - just pm me a postal address if you want them? :)
