AFAIK, the 20G takes a bit longer to spool up whereas the other options come online a bit quicker.

I used Andy F's website and made myself a tick list for Stage 2a using the VF34. After the remap I had 334/335 with the 2l engine.

It spools up just as quickly as a VF34 but can make more BHP. cheers kenny
kennyuk300 Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 (edited) Hi would this be a good purchase ,i may have someone in the States who could ship it think it works out too around £879 cheers kenny http://www.gstmotorsports.com/store/index....products_id=941 Edited July 13, 2009 by kennyuk300
wulsey Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I fitted a VF34 from Andyf & with the same sort of mods your talking about the car made a good 340bhp 340lbft. I was told that the TD 05 20g would rip my gear box & clutch to bits if they were left standard.
scoobysailor Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 (edited) Kenny, I have an Andy F TD05 16G and I am getting the kind of power you are after (without the gearbox worries..........hopefully ) Edited July 13, 2009 by scoobysailor
z1000 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Kenny, I have an Andy F TD05 16G and I am getting the kind of power you are after (without the gearbox worries..........hopefully ) I run a 20g and get around 370/380 bhp with a FMIC, full decat 550cc injectors etc Had no complaints and plaenty of grins and doesn't take 2 long to get going at all.
RA Dunk Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 the 20G is a bit overkill if he`s only looking for 3-350BHP a 16g or 18g would be better suited without fear of loosing his box

Would i be right in saying you have a verion 2 sti? Is the engine still on standard internals? Is it still the standard gearbox?
DR Motosport Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 The VF 30/34/35 are all good for 330-350bhp. The 20G is good for around the 380bhp mark., very few get to the genuine 400bhp mark. The main difference is the spool up of the 20G will be about 500 - 700 rpm later than the VF's.
badbaz Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Howdy Kenneth. More power? Have you ditched the better stopping in favour of more speed? Tut tut, it'll be fun tho'!!! I laughed at the title of your thread son, it made me have some unusual images in my head!
braveheart Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 20G you will mod again as the bug has bit for more power

z1000 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Would i be right in saying you have a verion 2 sti? Is the engine still on standard internals? Is it still the standard gearbox? Yes, yes and yes. I always try and warm it up and try not to thrash it 2 much and don't go for full power standing starts etc I'm sure the turbos capable of more but think anything else would need an upgrade or ten.

I believe Andy F sells them for about £600...IIRC. I had looked on ebay and when I sent a couple of links of 'VF34's' to Andy or other club members, there were a couple where I was told they weren't even VF34's!
