mctwistuk Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Driving to work this morning the dreaded CEL light has come on. Is there anyone in the paisley area that has a fault code reader that could help me diagnose the problem? Cheers Chris

mctwistuk Posted July 6, 2009 Author Posted July 6, 2009 Has anyone else with Meercat sportcat experienced this?
Richie Cross Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Has anyone else with Meercat sportcat experienced this? Hi Chris, Can't remember if you have an STI? As you know, I have the sportscat/decatted downpipe/up pipe on my WRX...all by Meercat. Only time I had the CEL light come on was right after the up pipe and it was for the EGT sensor prior to remap. Guess that doesn't help!!
sparky_sj04 Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Has anyone else with Meercat sportcat experienced this? Nah mine is fine.. But I had it mapped soon after the downpipe was fitted. Am I right in saying yours isn't mapped yet?
mctwistuk Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 It is an sti richie. Still to get it mapped which will be getting done next month:-) no other bits fitted as yet as they will get done nearer map time. I will put this down to gremlins in the system.
sparky_sj04 Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I take it you're still going to get it checked out? There are those that would discourage running for any length of time even with the Sportcat fitted before the car is mapped. Wullie from Meercat being one of them...
sti_steve Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 This is where I made a mistake. I had my 3" system fitted about 2 weeks ago and im not driving it until I get it mapped on 22nd July so I have missed a few runs ect. Hind sights a wonderful thing! Bit stupid having the car sitting there doing nothing paying for tax and insurance. Roll on the 22nd
mctwistuk Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 I dont put car on boost that often and drive it sensibly as i know it needs mapped. Will see if it ever comes on again and take it from there. I am in no way saying there is anything wrong with the exhaust i was just curious if anyone else had similar before mapping. Cheers chris
