AlanG Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 F,ing hell thats a bit sh!t is it not Some go to lengths such as plumbing dump valves in behind the wheel arch and all that to hide it from police but they're not daft. The bit that pisses me off is that the police can serve you a defect notice for something like a straightcut PPG gearkit cause it's noisy.... One of the problems is that they serve you a defect notice, you go to their official checker upperer to get it checked (after fixing whatever they've defected you with), you pay them big bucks to get it checked, but if they find anything else untoward, they can tell you to get that fixed too, come back and pay the fee all over again to get it checked. Not worth the grief imo. Can't remember the cost of having the vehicle checked and defect overturned but it ain't cheap from what i believe
RA Dunk Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Thank feck i live in the UK then <<<< i cant believe i just said that
colin_ross Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Sounds like a piece of nonsemse to me. You could do some real steathly mods that would make a car massively faster that they've never be able to tell. Would one of these inspectors know if you took a classic, dropped in a built 2.5 with a md321t, bigger injectors, newage topmount, bigger fuel pump and an ecutek remap?

They're getting more clued up as time goes by on as to whats std and what isn't

fai17 Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 There was zero advancement regarding the build But brackets are getting fabricated as we speak to support the front end.

fai17 Posted October 1, 2009 Author Posted October 1, 2009 Progress has been still slow lately as the garage has been rammed with paying work. But i got a front splitter from HT Auto and was modified to fit my set up. The bottom of the front bumper is going to get chooped clean off and strenghten/support will be put in place to hold the splitter. It looks weird the now as the bottom of the front bumper is blocking the big FMIC but i will post new pics when it gets chopped. Oh the turbo outlet will get an alloy 90" bend welded to it and it will be pointing a different direction from before.
fai17 Posted October 1, 2009 Author Posted October 1, 2009 Oh and the return from the rad to thermostat housing has been modified to suit my build. It has been chopped and turned and welded up. Getting there slowly!
scoobzie Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 peter what sort of shift paterns are they doing 3 hour days come on 15 of november is fast approaching lol
scoobzie Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 peter what sort of shift paterns are they doing 3 hour days come on 15 of november is fast approaching lol anymore progress on the battleship peter
fai17 Posted October 10, 2009 Author Posted October 10, 2009 Nope... But since that they have cleared their feet at the garage, they are moving back onto my car as of next week. TBH even if i got the car back in 2 weeks i seriously doubt i would have enough time to run it in,get it to Pennine to get the heads re-torqued and then mapped for the 15th! But i will be going up to Crail anyways.
