Mobius 1 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Hi all I got a very welcome phone call from Adams Scooby today They said the car was in and I could collect it on saturday morning Sorry to keep harping on about, I think venting on here is helping to stop me popping with excitement I thought I may as well start a topic, then i can just dump some photos in when it gets here and when a worthwhile mod is done. I think next week at work I will rip the undercar exhaust off and look at getting rid of the mid box. It's just not quite loud enough so I plan to have a play around with it. This means also I have the sad task of clearing out the Wagon tomorrow. Will be sad to see her go after 2.5 yrs of trouble free and very exciting driving Cheers all Ben
the_1 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 i heard adams were going due to not selling any cars

Mobius 1 Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Cheers guys!! Sounds like I might have to go and see this film, but I'd rather wait till its on Blu-Ray We got given a half day at work for free today so plenty of time to return the Wagon to standard and clear out all my crap before saying good by tomorrow. I hope she finds a loving new owner see you all soon Ben

Mobius 1 Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 She is being part ex'd. They have given me full Glass's price of £6000, so it would have to be that much and I would need cash tonight as I'm off first thing in the morning I didn't really try to sell her privately as I thought I would struggle like hell in the current climate and the last time i tried to sell my Celica before I got the scoob it took ages and lost loads to get a sale in the end. Once bitten and all that............... Ben
gc8-r Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 well only one more night then you get her(and all scoobs are female) will see you very soon,no doubt
stum450n Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 mines definetely a 10 pinter then lol She's not THAT bad, a couple of bottles should do the trick mate... yep, a couple of bottles of vodka! Sorry mate, you left yourself wide open there! The bugeye's have definitely grown on me tbh, especially with morettes!
Mobius 1 Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 I must admit the bug eye is still growing on me, but it has a long way to go................... but then what do I know, I've sold out and got a hatch, which many people would say is far worse than a 10 pinter :hl: Right, I'm going to very carefully drive to Aylesbury now, don't want to damage the part-ex .......... Couldn't ask for a nicer day for it either............ happy driving everyone Ben

gc8-r Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 just see the man,and must say "i want it " they look the t**s and better looking everytime i see one and a top bloke....
Mobius 1 Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 I love it for it's shear uglyness Now thats dedication good on yer mate Good to meet you gc8r, I'm glad you like her. I must say I'm very impressed with the motor. There is only one negative thing I would say about the car so far and that is the weight of the steering just isn't quite heavy enough, but I already knew this and I think a trip to Litchfield should this solve this problem. Have to earn some more money first tho Sadly the radio in the car doesn't work. I drove it off the forecourt and a little way down the road my good lady could not get the radio to pick up any stations at all?? So we turned around and went back. They took it into the workshop but in the end said they would have to order a new one for it, it appears to just be broken. No big deal just means I get a longer drive during the week one day The sat nav and CD/DVD player still work tho..... Other than that everything went ok and I had a nice day driving around with a perma-grin on When we finally got home mid afternoon i cleaned the windscreen to get all the bugs off (the only downside to such nice weather is loads of bug splatz) a fitted a 200mm black sun strip to it. I hate having light from even bright clouds let alone the sun coming in through the high windscreens on Imprezas, I just find it annoying. Then gave the windscreen and side windows a coat of "Rain X". I love that stuff in the wet. There is loads of a spray grease/wax on nearly everything in the engine bay so may try to remove the excess of this tomorrow.........opps, I mean today. Plus take some pics of the new toy of course I'll be speaking to the dealer about that too. Have a good day at Abingdon all, sounds like it should be good Cheers Ben
the_1 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 it's a preservative to protect the ally, subaru do like to spray it over everything though even plastics!
hawkins Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 looking forward to seeing new scoob post some pics when you get a chance. How much faster does it feel than your old wagon?
Mobius 1 Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 (edited) it's a preservative to protect the ally, subaru do like to spray it over everything though even plastics! Ok cheers the 1. I had a go at getting some off this afternoon after getting home while it was still warm. Comes off quite easy when warm. Hawkins I'd say it feels twice as fast as my wagon but I'm sure it isn't, it just feels so damn quick and responsive. Not that I have been giving it full beans just yet, I'm trying not to have too much fun with it and be kind but sometime just can't resist a little burst I just cant get over how many gizmos the sat nav computer thingy has. Its great and was totally unexpected as I hadn't played with it at the dealers. Here are some pics. The sun had gone in by the time I took them so you can't see the grey effect in the paint, but they are a start. Cheers all Ben Edited May 3, 2009 by Mobius 1
stum450n Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Bloody hell! Didn't realise how sexy the new ones could look! Glad you're happy with her mate!
Mobius 1 Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 (edited) Looks lush mate.... :D Loving the corsa in the background reckon it's one of the girls in my place that owns that!!!! small world...... Woops forgot that plate........ I think her name is Gina?? Can't remember. Thanks for the kind words chaps Ben Edited May 4, 2009 by Mobius 1
Mobius 1 Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) Hey guys........... Well I got my car on some axle stands on tuesday and ripped that nice new exhaust off and played around a bit. The first step was to see what would it sound like without the mid box, so I made a straight through pipe and welded it to the now cut up centre section. Here is a vid............ Its ok but maybe still a little low key. Trouble is I'm a terrible boy racer when it comes to exhaust noise so I easily get carried away, but my good lady should stop me getting too carried away We are quite quiet at work so I may make a twin silencer rear end for it like the afterburner exhaust I have seen on scoobyworld. But mine will be welded nice Anyone wanting some exhaust work done by professional motorsport fabricators, now is your chance to get some from the place I work, as we are quite quiet I still don't have the new stereo, in fact they rang me today asking if I could drive all the way back to the garage because they didn't get all the numbers and codes they needed when they looked at it on picking the car up. This also means they didn't even get around to ordering it till today. I'll then have to go back to the garage again after I get back from holiday to have it fitted! I'm thinking they will be giving me a discount on the fog lights I want to get fitted Cheers Ben Edited May 17, 2009 by Mobius 1
the_1 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 exactly the same as mine except i had the fogs put in at pdi as i didn't like the plastic grilles, apparantly you have to have a new light stalk as well as the switch is built in to it they said.
Mobius 1 Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 exactly the same as mine except i had the fogs put in at pdi as i didn't like the plastic grilles, apparantly you have to have a new light stalk as well as the switch is built in to it they said. Cool.....good choice I kinda ran out of money but hopefully may get them done this week as compensation for my stereo not working. Do you know how much the fitting and fogs cost you (if you don't mind saying)? I ordered a lower lip splitter for the front bumper and JDM prodrive mudflaps from Revolution 247 last week so that should be here soon. Should be able to look at fitting them toward the end of this week I spent 6.5 hours cleaning, claying and waxing the motor on sunday. She really needed it after our sea side trip Here were my toys for last week She had a nice view of the ocean.......... Oh and the new hatchback is about 8" shorter than my wagon but has more usable space as the suspension turrets to not intrude as far. Filled that baby right up!! The buggy crew (excluding me) Cheers Ben
the_1 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 they were fitted free of charge but i don't know what they cost either i just said fit them! post some pics up when they are fitted my get mine done then if they look good whats that buggy thing then?
