sti_steve Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 (edited) Looks like one of the better events on at Crail and well worth a trip up. Anyone from this site going along so I will know who to look out for? Full details on their site : http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/schedule.asp Edited April 28, 2009 by sti_steve
sti_steve Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 Cool, come and say hi if its not too cold!
Connor_scotland Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 yea im hoping the weather will be decent :-) Its down for "light showers" at the moment :-( not cool
ur.a.bus Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 (edited) thats a rip off, £10 a person and not alot happens. last 1 i went to just had chav with bottles of buckie and socks tucked in, few sheds getting thrashed on the burn out area, some good things on the strip mind you but the only thing max power had there was a photographer its been a long time since the monster trucks and jet cars ect attended this Edited April 29, 2009 by ur.a.bus
Connor_scotland Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 (edited) Yea i know what you mean mate There was even a fair amount of chavs at the Banzai day I just love watching cars on the strip - I think it will be to busy to get the Scooby on but if i get down early enought i will Edited April 29, 2009 by Connor_scotland
sti_steve Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 Of course there will be chavs but you just have to take what you can from it.
Connor_scotland Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 yea i know what you mean Enjoy looking at modified cars etc so its always good crack when down there
ur.a.bus Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Of course there will be chavs but you just have to take what you can from it. lol yes but the max power events at crail a few years back were good and it was worth £10 per person, monster trucks, jet quads, jet cars guys parachuting, russ swift displays ect now they take the £10er and there is no show, the last i went to max power never sent anyone up we used to go with 3 cars full £150 hardly worth it, better going to thrash and dash days to watch the strip when its quieter
Connor_scotland Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 yea i mind i went to the Max Power fireshow 4 year or something ago and it was outstanding Jetcar setting fire to stuff and doing runs on the strip and loads more The whole car scene has died down alot
sti_steve Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 Fair enough. I think I went last year when there was no show from Max Power. Not really fussed as its just to see some decent cars and see whats going on...not a lot by what you are saying "ur.a.bus" lol
Connor_scotland Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 i was at the banzai crail 2 weeks ago and thought it was awesome There still was alot of corsas etc kicking about but its good to have anosey about other folks cars lol
diablo Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 get down to a real track and improve your time like santapod make it a jolly boys weekend
sti_steve Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 get down to a real track and improve your time like santapod make it a jolly boys weekend eh?
diablo Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 how many times have you went to crail and the gear is fooked so the times are wrong and the track is like a farm road with the money they take you think they could do something with it
cullenmin Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 how many times have you went to crail and the gear is fooked so the times are wrong and the track is like a farm road with the money they take you think they could do something with it Couldn't agree more there.
Connor_scotland Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 how many times have you went to crail and the gear is fooked so the times are wrong and the track is like a farm road with the money they take you think they could do something with it very true dude At Banzai the pre stagers were changing in the amount of time they were on for which was bloody annoying And the end of the 1/4 is in terrible condition
Maxxed_Ross Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) it's because it's a listed historic site, so they're not allowed to change it even if they wanted to It has improved slightly over the past years, but it's still a rip off considering what a state the place is in - that and it's on a hill! The scene hasn't quietened down, Crail have gotten lazy. The last Max power day was a joke, as said you would never have known it was anything to do with them. Even the pole dancers were half cut skanks I was at the Fast Ford day a few months back and it was nearly dead. Reminded me exactly why I stopped going, and I won't be going again any time soon Edited April 30, 2009 by Maxxed_Ross
diablo Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 have to agree with above get a group together and head down south i would bet that your times would be alot better
sti_steve Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 The entry gate and where you pay leading on to where the track starts is in terrible condition. Surely there is some land that someone could make a fortune out of by creating a new 1/4 mile strip
Maxxed_Ross Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 there was talk of Knockhill making one Crail used to run a few events up at the Edzel US air base on the way to Aberdeen... I went to a few up there and the whole place is much better suited for it... but for some reason they stopped using it
evil_scoobs Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 amazing how many folk moan about crail and the condition (me to) but we still go. Just a shame there isnt anything else better nearer. Im hopefully getting my first scooby this weekend so looking forward going up to Crail and seeing what it can do. Hope it beats my old best time in my 200sx of 13.2 since its 4 wheel drive and should get better starts.
stubaroo Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I wouldn't mind heading up, but I take it they charge £10 a head for everybody in the car. There would be me, the wife and 2 kids (4 year old and 2 year old) in the car. If they are going to take £40 they can get tae...... ....... I think I will give it a miss. How much do they charge on a basic no frills thrash Sunday?

stubaroo Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Mayby I could hide them all in the boot....... pay my £10 at the gates then park up and let them oot again. That sounds a bit more like it, anybody else tried this tactic?
