ciaranrb5 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I just fitted a new clutch yesterday. Clutch was about 200 Crank oil seal 15 Labour 50 Thanks god for a mate who used to work at AWD I assisted although he did most of it. In total it took about 3 hours including drinking 15 beers (no i didn't drive home) Only problem we found was the bits of swarf stuck to my magnetic gearbox drain plug

david_taylor Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Man they are not fun to change. Mine took all day on the ramp, mainly because we could not get the feckin thing to line back up with the gearbox. After much swearing and nearly coming to blows with my cousin "who is the mechanic" we got the thing in. Most annoying thing was I done it cos it slipped bad once when i tried to pull away on high revs on a hill, then it slipped all the way home. Seemed ok the next day, but i thought best do it while i had the cash. When we took the old one out it still had loads of life in it. Chance you take I guess.

I made 100% sure it was knackered before i did it. It is alot of money to spend to find out the old one was ok?

thewelsho Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Assume when I typed "sent a pm" then it auto changed to the above (I didnt write that lol) Yeah, its a little system that the powers at be put into place to prevent the forum from being overrun with "Y-H-P-M" alerts. No need for them now as a pop-up box alerts users as soon as they access the site and have PM.
