kevtheskin Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Hello Folk's. Just got myself a 52 plate Wrx Wagon with the Prodrive performance pack fitted. Can someone please tell me what sort of performance I should be getting Bhp and torque. Reason I am asking is that it does not feel as fast as my old classic wagon which was mapped by Andy F and with only a decated down pipe and magnex back box dyno results 257 bhp. Any info much appreciated. Cheers Kev

If your old wagon had been to Andy F's then I imagine he would've unleashed more torques for your acceleration which might have been more noticeable than the new one. I think your classic wagon would be lighter as well.
scoobyseller555 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 a 52 plate car with PPP has 265ps/261bhp,delete second cat, stainless rear section and ecutec remap under licence by prodrive,a generik map done on a random developement car then regenerated onto all the PPP ecu's. Remember that the newer age cars are also a good couple of hundred weight heavier therefore aiding in the lack of performance. Gav i'm a qualified 'brand specialist' you know

Gav i'm a qualified 'brand specialist' you know Not 100% sure on that.... The origonal PPP for the bugeye's were a addon chip the ECU whcih brought power on bugeyes up from 218ps to 245ps (or there abouts, woudl have to check), it wasn't until the blobeye circa 2003, that the PPP consisted of a ECUTek map which brought power to the 265ps..... But! if you bought a bugeye and got PPP fitted before 2003 you got the mod chip.. After 2003 and they fitted the new remap version which had more kick! Also means the UK300's (with PPP) weren't the full 265ps as I've seen in classifieds due to the confision of different generations of PPP Would be interested to know whent he cut off was... of course this depends on whether or not it's a bugeye or very early blobeye.. You are quite correct in what you say, but,in 2001 the UK300 was produced with 245ps(board on board chipset)241bhp,from 2001 X plated cars until Sept 2002 these cars were all 245ps,from then on most were 265ps using the updated ecutek technology,as this car is a Sept 2002 onwards car i would take that it was the latter pack, but you never know. If it is the 245ps pack its no wonder that the car doesnt feel as sharp as even a standard classic. Gav

CooL! thanks to the info! Were all Uk300's fitted with PPP? I remember reading a UK300 brochure somewhere and the standard spec was 218ps but there was an optional upgrade, "WRSport Performance Pack" option boosting power to 245ps ? I could have misread it and it was comparing the standard car to the UK300.. P.s. Not being picky.. Just want to make sure my knowledge is accurate Thanks!
scoobyseller555 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 yep UK300 had the option of the WR sport pack, ppp. If my memory serves me correctly,£24995 for a standard car and £1600 for the PPP fitted including VAT. Shows how car prices havn't increased by much over the years. Gav
jimmymc1 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 i have a uk300 without ppp. if i remember right the ppp was removed from mine because i was too young to get insurance for the ppp wrx at that time, that was 2003 or so when the car was just over a year old i think. it was 245ps then dropped too 218ps which it still is now! my car came from drive subaru, i bought it from the last brand specialist a certain mister mcrae! speaking of mr mcrae i havent seen many of the limited edition 300r's on the road recently! anyway i still have the certificate which states 245ps and was fitted in july 2001 so deffo the earlier ppp. also have the original bill of sale which is for £27000 for uk300 ppp plus all the extras uk300 mats, bootmat, strutbrace, short shift and so on . funny to think that thats well over sti money now! whoever purchased the car new also bought a spare wheel which i also got when i bought it????
scoobyseller555 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Mr McRae,oh christ!!!!!brand specialist!!!aye maybe on Rover 25's at the time, think he is still at arnold mazda in stirling,300r's,my one still kicks around on here. Gav
