david_taylor Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Dont know if you are a visiter to this site. Blue STi this morning om M9 going onto m876 ar around 7.45. Good driving. I like nothing more than someone tailgating me at 70 and being overly aggresive. I particularly liked how you proceeded to do this to every car you came up to as you joined the M876. It aint big and it aint clever. Its idiots like you that give subaru drivers a bad name! Grrrr
RA Dunk Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 another knobber doing the subaru name a favour then
sti_steve Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I don't understand why you need to do this? unless it was a medical emergency then there is certainly no need to do this. We all like a play in our cars, which is obvious or we would'nt own this type of car, but there is a time and a place!
C_WRX Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Even more so nowadays I think "what if that behaviour causes an accident and what if there's an infant/child in that car". If someone won't get out the fast lane give a flash if you must, don't sit on their tail ! It ain't big and it ain't clever !!
scoobzie Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 i,ve had this before as my rear windows are tinted the wee guy sits in the back and people don,t realise you have a kid in the car i just slow right down to 10 mph and then speed up to put distance between me and them it pisses them off
pmacFTO Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I had a guy on a big motorbike right on my ar$e on the M8 on Sunday and I had my 2 kids in the back and was really not happy...he, of course, proceeded to go past me and tailgate everyone in the outside lane even tho we were all doing 60-70 in the 50 section of the motorway. That's madness on a bike - so much for telling us car drivers to watch out for bikes...what about a general campaign to just watch out for tw@ts, be it on bike or car!

That advert with the motorbike crash is so misleading. It doesn't appear in the first clip, no wonder the guy didn't see it!
the blue dragon Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Its bad enough that we have to put up with the pimp my ride crew doing this to us but when its another subaru Iain
Joe G Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I had a silver evo tailgate me a couple of weeks ago coming down the M8 obviously wanting a race. I had the wee one in the car at the time so i was pretty p***ed!! Thought the guy would have given up when i pulled into the slow lane but he just moved in behind me close enough that i couldn't see his number plate in the rear view mirror! There is no need for it! If i didn't have the wee one in the car id have been in the right mind to slam the anchors on!! If you want to prove to your mates that your car is faster do it at KH or crail!
st3ph3n Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I usually slip on the rear fogs to deter tail gaters. IF that fails then it's left foot covering the brakes. If that fails then it's usually just a two fingered salute.
mystery machine Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 (edited) Juvenile I had a shabby grey hawkeye STi driver do the same to me a few weeks back. I was in unfamiliar territory, on a country road that wasn't short of pedestrians or cyclists, so I was in no rush. Stuck my LH indicator on to let the guy past but still he sat there velcro'd to my rear bumper through several straight sections until he eventually took the plunge and overtook... "Either shiit or get off the pot", as the saying puts it... Edited March 31, 2009 by Mystery Machine
RA Dunk Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I usually slip on the rear fogs to deter tail gaters. Anti lag does it for me, never seen something get rid of a moron in a corsa quicker than a huge bang and a flame
david_taylor Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 Rear mounted rocket propelled grenade would be really effective though!
scoobyseller555 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 this was one that we sold and its local. gav
colzo Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 That advert with the motorbike crash is so misleading. It doesn't appear in the first clip, no wonder the guy didn't see it! Look harder then! I ride everyday and you won't believe the amount of idiots that try and pull out of junctions without paying enough attention. As road users we all have to look out for each other, its not a bike vs car thing. Taking my DAS was the best thing I've done and shows up how complacent we all get after driving for years.
