tucku34bt Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 hi all. i have just bought my first petrol turbo car ever. its an impreza 2000 turbo awd a 2001 reg. i am very impressed with the handling and power, have been smiling since the testdrive! fuel economy will take a bit of getting used to tho . my last car was a mk4 astra van 1.7td. the car has a scorpion stainless exhaust and a green panel filter, came with some teething probs, hesitation on boost. i have had a long look through this forum and found similar problems. so will be putting some of the advice to use at the begining of next week. hopefully resolve the problem, because when it boosts properly its just a pleasure! i am also a member of a local club called stornoway cruise, there is a very interestin impreza buildup on there that is worth a look. here is the link. http://www.stornowaycruise.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1708 here are a few of pics.

scooby-22 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Welcome to the SIDC, nice looking motor you have there With regards to you boost issues there is a new post in the 'Strictly Technical' section telling you about your expected boost levels, how it works and how to solve most of the problems, if you still have any problems post up in there and a guy called Big 'D' (Boost Guru) will more than happily try and help you out.

Keep the wheels, save yersel some dosh and use it on other mods Disclaimer: All of the above is simply a matter of opinion and does not serve to offend by intention or unintention -

micra_wrc Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 .....i have had a long look through this forum and found similar problems. so will be putting some of the advice to use at the begining of next week. .... good stuff, there's a lot of advice and experiences on here look out particularly for the "how do I..." threads that are started by Welsho, he seems to have modded everything on his scoob, and entertained us while doing so
jonboywrx Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Can you post a pic with gun metal wheels?? I think gunmetal would look awesome! P1 wheels maybe?!! Enjoy
oobster Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Nice car - I just found the guy who bought my red WRX posting on that site (Gunn) - the white wheels he's probably talking about on your Photoshop thread is the ones I had on the car & they were in mint condition when I sold the car to him. If you see him, tell him I said hullo!
mystery machine Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Welcome to the forum, mate - peachy classic you have there Surprised you're considering a rim change, those wheels look perfect for your motor IMO!
nkwrx Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Hi mate and welcome. I too like your current rims and a refurb would be a lot cheaper ( £50 per wheel ) than new ones
tucku34bt Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 i like to put my own stamp on my cars, change something. and since the weels are nackrd i am going to get them refurbished in a different colour. i am nearly 100% set on gunmetal now. ill tell Gunn you were askin after him oobster.

adamski-44 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Welcome to the world of the flat 4's that is a nice looking classic you have i hope it brings you many more smiles over the miles
scoobysailor Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Nice car mate.......lovely colour . As for the wheels ........I'd go for white myself
tucku34bt Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) fixed my boost problem today by cleaning out the boost solenoid. pulling like a train now! but, got some idling gremlins now ECU says AF sensor. will get to that tomorrow night. Ive settled on gun metal mate, i might sell these wheels, they are too hard to clean. there is a lip inside the spokes were all the s**t of the day gathers. get her running sweet first and a boost gauge and turbo timer . that's my plans for the immediate future. Edited March 17, 2009 by tucku34bt
