The Fat Banana - Pics

just home after going with Grant to pick up the Banana.

He decided against getting it trailored and drove it up the road instead.

many thanks to G Mac for the run down and convoy back.

today was the first time I'd seen it in the flesh and wow, that body kit gives it such a road presence.

Its very mean and aggressive on the road, in your mirrors, in a car park.

ride quality was ok - suspension was surprisingly soft given the coilovers that are on it (bilstein i think)

the noise inside the cabin was err loud - we had to shout to each other over the roar of the engine + exhaust :D

bucket seats were comfy and the padding is great - it takes away the metal-ness of the yellow roll cage and stripped out interior.

TRS 5 point harnesses were great once you were strapped in, but its getting strapped in and out that takes the time.

No more "jump in and go", it takes us like 5 mins to get ready haha

from my [female] point of view the Banana has no heating, no stereo, no door pockets, no sun visors and no interior light.......

but it doesnt matter, just being in the car makes you

my RA has now become the luxury car... how bizarre! :(

Grant will probably post up a more technical view once he stops driving around with a stupid grin on his face :icon_salut:

Still got a silly grin slapped across my face

Gave my 72 yo Daddy a shot over the Ind Est and he chortled like a 10yo at the ooomph, he was shifting up at 2500

Clutch is multiplate and not paddle, got used to it quite quickly.

Pleasant to drive despite the lack of basic human comforts

Just had to come home via the Clyde Tunnel, niiiiiiccccceee

Will post pics once i transfer them from my phone

was in G Macs car for some heat and got some on the road footage of the Banana.

I've taken the sound out as you can't hear the car over the noise of the wind.

1st time I've tried linking to a video uploaded to photobucket so fingers crossed this works

edit - cant get the link to work, will ask Grant to upload it onto You Tube

did you use the rac dayinsure to get it up the road

Transferred my policy from the Blue car to this car

Dayinsure declined as it was a miodified car but thanks for the suggestion

Gt25/30, what are these rated for grant? i dont seem to hear much of these it`s usually the GT30 that gets thrown around with these things, how does it spool with the rotated set up?

I know this is hard to believe but i have not given her any grief yet. Want to wait till Andy checks her over and also my foot keeps catching the fuse box cover during gear changes

Once Andy does his stuff and i sort the fuse box cover a full and frank assesment of the above turbo will be made but keep in mind that this turbo has been in the car since 98 in Japan, so health of turbo is unknown and she is running without a DV just now

Dyno graph shows 349bhp at 6500rpm and torque peaking and stable at 3800rpm. Feels responsive nough and is always rying to push on with the slightest peddle movement

Really don't like the look of the car Grant, sorry. :(

As long as you like it though that's all that matters.

Only joking mate, looks awesome. Looking forward to seeing and hearing it in the metal. Nice one :D:icon_salut::blush:
