C_WRX Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 With not really needing the car over the last 7 weeks I decided at the of end-December to give the car its winter detail while I had time to work away as and when could...well that was the plan ! Started off well with a thorough wash, then clayed, then washed again and then inside for the polishing. Car had picked up a few bad marks over the last 5 months so set about correcting most of them with the porter cable and some Menzerna 3.02, some scratches needing wet sanded but I just don't like doing that so only covered a few of the worst ones !! Found I couldn't spend as much time as I'd planned on the car through early weeks between work and other folk wanting their cars done (well two of them!! ) and fell behind the timeline I'd set....then along came baby Lucy so no time left for the car !! Managed over the weekend there to finish off what little of the basic correction was left to an acceptable standard and then a final polish with Menzerna 85RD before adding some nice Blackfire Midnight Sun wax. I've the original wheels on at the moment which I use in the winter, so much prefer the 18's but as they're still immaculate keeping away from any possible damage through winter months. Apologies in advance for the pics, first day out of the garage and its snowing !! Quickly taken in between snow falls, plus I'm not the best with a camera !! You get the idea though, nice clean car - now I've to go out in it tonight to get some work done on it through this week....more to follow on that later this week !

C_WRX Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 very tidy mate......but not after a wee run to Hypertec eh?.....need to get the mop and bucket oot again. So you saw it over there per chance ? Chances on not getting it dirty on the trip through were slim, but the snow made sure of it ! Tucked back inside now but wayyyyy too cold just now to even think about giving it a quick wash. Was yours there Tuesday evening ?

mystery machine Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Yeah it is! well done with that! Quite - you have to admire a guy who's willing to venture out in the snow all in the name of keeping his Scooby slick Anything less than 6dC and absolutely bone dry roads, or even a hint of rain in the next three days' weather forecast and mine's wearing the muck
