bigal024 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Thats a fair old whack of a difference like!
craigdmcd Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 That's what happens when economies go down the tubes and exchange rates go nutty.
mikeyb13 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 That's what happens when economies go down the tubes and exchange rates go nutty. Will this not have a massive effect on Import car prices?
scouk Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 Will this not have a massive effect on Import car prices? Yep... particularly the new Impreza Diesel which is no longer leaving Japanese shores Until further notice.. Due to the exchange rate of the nikkei to the rest of the world, the cost to ship the cars means they woudl have to put a fair whack onto the price.. Due to the fact were still heading into the financial storm (so to speak) thre is no ETA on when it will be shippped.. Worst case scenario.. It may never get mass shipped out world wide or at least it could be a years before it's viable.. Now THAT's a kick in the nuts for all concerned.. Subaru build a car they cannot sell and we cannot get a car we want to buy!
RATechnology Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 That's what happens when economies go down the tubes and exchange rates go nutty. Couldn't agree more.. It's all down to the exchange rates! Look out for price hikes on most things that come in from O/S next year especially from Japan, Europe, US The Pound isn't as strong as it used to be
cullenmin Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I seen that GB on scoobynet, pity I dont have the coin just now for the super streets, upper mounts and EDFC controller etc. Rich
scoobysailor Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Looks like I got mine just in time then!!
thefastone Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Same here Rich, I just cant justify spendin the coin on that very same kit... I'm not planning on spending any more really on the car (Unless I have too) for at least the next year....
scouk Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 I'm not planning on spending any more really on the car (Unless I have too) for at least the next year.... Same ere' Prices are gonna be going up for Japanese stuff And to top it off my clutch started slipping today on the way home from work Gawd knows when I'll be able to get that sorted.. Just forked out £575 for insurance..
thefastone Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Yeah that was something else that got me, was that the price for insurance has gone up... as I paid the same for this years insurance as I did for last years insurance... apparently the wholesale cost of imreza insurance has gone up too...
