My car is a UK Turbo 2000, i have..

Full de-cat blitz

Autobahn front mount intercooler

VF35 turbo

Ported and wrapped headers from Harvey Smith

Walbro fuel pump

Power tech induction kit

Standard 440 injectors (running at 90%)

I went to powerstation and had a service first so they could check all my work, it was due one and wanted fresh oil in for best results on the map.

Once it had been serviced it got mapped. I was totally new to this so learnt quite abit. Basically they give your car a run on the rollers. They then look at the output and change the detination, ignition or boost, save the data to the ecu and then run it again. He did this several times till he got the best output 3 times and then it was done.

The map cost me 646 pound which is the same anywhere, the service cost me 200 and i had afew other things done which took my total up to 945 quid.

The car now drives really different!! It is quicker but in a different way, there doesnt seem to be as much low down torque (apparently i need a 3 port boost solenoid which will give me this) and i have alot more of the rev range. Before it used to run out of puff in each gear quite quick but now the revs are later on. I just need to get used to driving like this. It is alot more lively, pops and bangs alot, back fires after nearly every gear change, very rally!

When i get to the next meet you can check it out and we can compare rides.

Any questions welcome.

I am very pleased with the results, a big thank you to Andy.

Cheers Marc

that's brilliant, thanks for the reply. I.ve got more or less exactly the same as you, even down to wrapped headers, but different makes. Really do want to get mine sorted and not a bad price, but there's one major problem... From what i.ve seen you can't plug into my ecu :) where you would normally plug in under the steering wheel there's just no socket so unless they can some how plug straight into the ecu i think i'm stuffed :P

another reason why i'm definately going along on saturday so they can take a look at the car and see what they think they can do with it... That and to also get it on the rollers just to see what it actually is putting out at the mo

roll on nxt wkend :rotfl:

What type and year is your car? I think they can only re-map 1999 onwards otherwise its going to be a new ecu. I dont know the compatability but in he sales area there was a bug eye ecu with the licence so yor re-map would be charged at the hourly rate.

I dont mean to P on your weekend but i wouldnt get it on the rollers till it has been re-mapped. They rev it till it either red lines or stops producing power, if your ignition is out or detonating at the wrong time you could cause some expensive damage.

wel originally it's a 94 import but from what i can make out it's had a 98/99 engine, gear box, rear diff, interior and possibly ecu from a uk spec swapped over into it. Hence why the diagnostic plug isn't there... Well it is but it seems to be from a skyline! Of which no one can get a reading off of it.

So if i need a new ecu then so be it, that's why i'm in real need of getting it over there for them to look at and see if or what they can sort out on it.

I'll think about not putting it on the rollers but my problem is i like to live dangerously!?! Lol plus if it blows then good excuse as any to brake the rest of the car and go buy a yellow type R that i've always wanted lol :rotfl:
