colzo Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Always loved the write ups and photography from the EVO guys and this issue makes no exception. The pictures are superb and the 22B looks amazing, all credit to its owner/s. I really like the look of the 330S and would consider one if the part exchange on my Impreza wasn't such a joke (been browsing Parkers Guide). I trust EVOs opinion on cars and to be honest would buy a car on the strength of their reports. The last paragraph sums it up though ......I reckon some of the £4500 premium over the STI would have been better spent with Prodrive honing the chassis rather than on new tailpipes, keyless go and bloody satnav. Enough said. If you are going to build a drivers car then build one. £31K for a 330S, I would rather buy a Audi S3 and have change in my pocket.
scoobyseller555 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 ........................or buy a standard sti and do your own mods. you dont know that your p/ex price would be crap Gav
john_mchutchison Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 i got offered 3k for my03 wrx with 70k miles last month on a px, nuff said.
col666 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I'll admit the new STI has grown on me, but those alloys on the 330 are horrific! Spotted a white 08 STI at Extreme earlier wth 5k miles for 20k, thats a pretty good saving over list!
Boyakasha Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 looks the same as any old MY08 with a sticker on the back saying 330s, and we all know it's not a good look.

I saw the same wheels on the demo at the dealers and I thought they looked great and suited the car perfect. The 2 things that let the car down cosmetically (unless you hate the new look completely!) are the rear lights, for obvious reasons, and the mirrors are far too big.

That is scandalous - name and shame - that is way below book price! As for the article, I read it last week, and it did make me want a 22B. It's actually quite nice to see that their original opinion on the car has changed, and they liked it more with age. As for the 330S, unfortunately it hasn't grown on me any more than the latest STi's, and hasn't made me change my mind as to buying a UK spec car from IM again. For that sort of cash, I'd be buying a Import Legacy STi like this JDM Legacy or a Forester STi.

A friend of mine got offered the same price for his 03 wrx for trade in he wasn't happy at all. I was shocked by the value of it i mean come on there are standard classics going for more than that!
Mike M Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 got £10000 for a 53 plate WRX SL wagon with 65k on it, from S&S in Ayr 8 weeks ago when trading in for an 08STI!!!!
scoobyseller555 Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 you were more than lucky,in the current market place that is a totally unreal p/x value, but well done. The car books at £4750@60k Cap Clean & £5575@70k Glass's Guide there suggested retail is £8125 and £8025. I am selling a 55 plate wagon with ppp for £9995 with half that mileage. Unfortunately the market conditions dictate values, everything is relative,if new car prices are falling then p/ex values will also be driven down. Gav
Mike M Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Agree with you there Gav, think they stocked up on too many STI's and I was in the right place, right time. However, as you aware deals are available to be had!!! Mike
jimser Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 what a difference from last year,i got £12400 from insurance payout after writing off my 05 wrx
