Could hardly believe my eyes  when I seen this pristine example of an 07 plate on pistonheads - whats the world coming to when you can get a car like this for under £13k. Think I will take mine off the market and wrap it up in cotton wool so it doesn't feel a lesser mortal. I will keep telling it that is loved by me - it's only the rule makers doesn't like our babies!!!!!

Boo hoo - gonna go and pour my heart and blubber for a while!!!

On the other hand I didn't wanna sell her anyway and it just gives me an excuse not to sell  Happy Days are back again!!!!

its an import hency the lower price i'd guess

Exactly, a proper 'Type UK' would fetch more. Still sweeties for a cracking car. I'd rather burn mine than sell it for under £13k.

The Ad states that the car is a Type UK. Was just wondering tho what it is that's not " proper " abount an import? Identical but cheaper to buy was my understanding. Anyone who went that route understood that there would be a hit on residual value but that doesn't make the car any less, or less proper than any other Scoob. Are JDM Classics not proper either??

They don't have 6 airbags, and the seats are better in the imports. You should get more for an import! Also, no security as standard (mine is like fort knox though )

The car did cost around £3.5k less than a UK one, so I would expect to sell at roughly that below a UK model.

It is strange but that's just how the market dictates, you buy a Type UK and you get the full back up from Subaru no messing around asn as you say the Import is around £3.5k less new so this margin remains roughly the same untill you get down to cars that are a lot older then the margin decreases in proportion to the overall value of the car.

With the market in freefall I might find myself back in a scoob yet......every credit crunch has a silver lining  sorry guys!

Did anybody see this months Evo mag? Sales of all new 'hot' Impreza's are not surprisingly seriously struggling, dealers reckon at best to sell about 1200 which is about 70% less than 4 years ago.

Exactly what I mean. Airbags aside the cars are equal. Can vouch for the comfy seats too. Mines was purchased as a long term keeper so the £5k saving on a WRX was too good to ignore. Have seen many pics of your STI 4hero and it looks fantastic and all the better for keeping £3k in your pocket when you bought it.

When I traded my 56 plate SL Wagon it booked at £13k or so................having contacted 5 stealers only one of them would buy the car and the offer was a piffling £9k ! I am glad I punted mine when I did as I cannot see things improving. I know 4 people who have lost their job in the last month alone....

The whole situation is compounded by the road tax increase, the cost of fuel and folk shying away from buying anything expensive at the moment. Interest rates for car loans have taken a hike too.........

I feel for you, but from a buyers point of view, it's great! I got a great deal on my 2006 STi PPP back in March- if i'd held off a few more months, i could have got an ever better deal, but thats the markets for you!

I eventually got shot of the car for £12900 which was nae too bad.

On the upside I picked up Pedals old WRX for 40% less than we was asking for it.........

Let's face it - unless you keep a car for it's entire life you'll loose money on it. I see cars as my hobby so I am not overly fussed on how much you loose.

It's amazing though how the sought after classics in mint condition can fetch though. It shall be interesting to see what this pans out in ten years time !

I sold the rally car this morning to a guy who wanted back into the sport, didn't get anywhere near what I thought it was worth - but then as everyone says - who does these days!!! The baby is getting picked up at the weekend and I will be saying goodbye to 6 years of happy, fun and expensive motoring - the guy has got a bargain in my mind. :D Hope he enjoys hammering the car as much as I did.

Down to only the one STi now - boo hoo - poor me!!!!

*Drool* although would have to be an STi.. And I can't afford either.. Still plenty of live in the bug though

BTW - I've been in an RB320 with a madman at the wheel.. and it one hell of a machine!! Driver confesses that if he was in the passenger seat he'd be scared silly! :)
