jimmyGforce Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 (edited) Hi i had a new block on order for 4 weeks. Finally arrived this morning after many threats. Now i dont trust the guy and want to be sure its what i ordered. Arrived with no paperwork in a sealed Subaru box. Its meant to be a 2.5 sti block for my P1. Many numbers on it so not sure if one tells you its an STI? EJ25 is on it so its a 2.5 anyway.Other numbers; B25C 703 53254L AA,67 67BB12111??? Anyone got a clue or will it just be subaru who could tell me? Thanks, Brian. Edited September 27, 2008 by jimmyGforce
jimmyGforce Posted September 27, 2008 Author Posted September 27, 2008 theres an ej25 b25c on ebay which states its an sti so looks like it if someone could confirm
drb5 Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 (edited) The one on Ebay makes it difficult to tell if it's a proper 257 block, as it has a head gasket covering it. The block you got, should have an embossed area with EJ25 on it and A or B stamped in the middle of the top, in line with each bore, relative to which piston is an A or B. This is a semi-closed deck EJ257 block... Edited September 28, 2008 by drb5

drb5 Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 IIRC the difference is in the pistons....don't think there's any difference in the block. As long as it's semi-closed i wouldn't bother about anything else block related(unless of course it's damaged lol) Not sure what pistons are fitted to the above pic, but the STi piston face should look like this...

PAUL-KILLIE Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 If the block is semi-closed it has the little tags linking the bore to the outer wall of the block(as shown above). Hope this helps!

sti pretender Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I've never had a problem getting parts from this company, but know of a guy who ordered a 2.5 and all the accessories after a couple of months eventually got all the parts after god knows how many phone calls, visits to the unit and finally threatening to come round to his house. 4 weeks doesn't to bad, just hope you get everything else you ordered.
jimmyGforce Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 i don't mind waiting for things. Its people being dishonest and not giving me information i hate. Was expecting a 3 week wait or so anyway. The fact was i heard nothing for 3 weeks after ordering so i asked him what was happening. If he had said he was having problems and told me of delays i wouldn't have cared but he told me it was due to be sent the next day. Status on site changed to "awaiting courier pickup" I had holidays off my work for a week so i'd be in. 11 days later still saying the same. Not answering any questions i was asking on emails. Just fobbing me off saying it will be sent asap. I had to threated to claim my money from credit card company and post all the emails on car club sites and it miraculously appeared. Not an honest man.
jimmyGforce Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 second part of order (timing belt kit) arriver separate today but the free gift (turbo timer) not here. yet another email sent!
AlanG Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I don't understand why you keep on "feeding" companies like this, more so when you already know what they're like!
