Typer666 Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Hey, I have a really annoying problem with my 97P reg turbo 2000 - the car starts when it wants to! As above, the car will sometimes start, sometimes it will not, I havent noticed any specific trends however the car is badly overdue a service in which all of the plugs etc will be changed so im hoping that sorts it . When starting the car there is plenty of power - just nothing happens and cant hear anything... im thinking spark plugs? Anyways thanks guys
colin_ross Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 When you say it won't start do you mean it still turns over but won't fire or the thing is dead?
jodie typeRA Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 hears my stab in the dark .....fuel pump stating to give up ??? sticky starter??
emoe Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 BAD PLUGS, BAD FUEL PUMP BAD REGULATOR BAD BATTERY BAD ATTITUDE BAD HAIR DAY BAD BOYS BAD COMPANY BAD DOG ANY OF THE ABOVE!
Joe G Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Had the same problem with my classic sti. Would tick over but not start. Took the fuel pump out and bench tested it and all was ok. But when the fuel pump was in the car i could not hear the system priming. Ended up finding the fault. It was the connector plug under the rear bench that was dodgy. Replaced it and no more problem starting!
