Guest sti3_lewak Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Hi guys. When i bought my Impreza it had a front splitter. Shamefully it was way to low and i ripped it off and cracked it. So i have know repaired it and re fitted it since i have my new suspension Please let us know what you thing comments please Before.... And after... I did the repair work myself... save some money and learn something also. The spray job i used some Gloss Black from Halfords. till i can afford to get it done by a pro... (unless anyone can spray and would like to do it for me.)
kevlorn Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 looks much better with a front splitter imo,and seems you have done a spot on job ,looks like a perfect colour match from the pics..

Cheers The job does look ok on the pic but if you look at it carefully in real life. you can see a slight difference and the paint has ran slightly but quite happy with it. Will be getting it resprayed thought so matches perfectly
mono775 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 looks good - i might do the same to mine - after seeing yours
kevlorn Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 lol, you'll smash it again if you get a pro job.............i smashed mine within 2 weeks of fitting it,i done a bodge repair, needs sanding down a bit but will be ok........i wouldnt fork out for a pro job tbh unless your really concerned about it...................no-one will notice..
Guest sti3_lewak Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Good advice there parker1, heading north tomorrow so will prob break it again. lol wasn't to hard to fix in the first place.
pezza_no1 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Looks great, wouldn't tell from those pics it was sprayed professional. Just done the same with mine, had it all repair and sprayed along with the whole front bumper. Unfortunately cause of the stupid colour blacks on imprezas, mines got a blue flake in it, they went and mixed in a smaller purple flake so now my bumper looks ever so slightly darker than the rest of the car if you get it in the right light. Oh and on the Gathering had a rather large stone flicked up at some point and been and took a massive chunk out the splitter and bounced up and chipped the bumper as well Looked good for the 3 weeks it was perfect tho lol
kevlorn Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 exactly..no-one noticed mine until i pointed it out........save your pennies for more mod's
pezza_no1 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Yeah and if a 'professional' messes it up and have to re-do it, you could be waiting AGES.... Yes i've still no sign of my nice spoiler as yet and he's had it 3 weeks to re-do the fookin thing
Guest sti3_lewak Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 3 weeks to fix a splitter... mine took me about a weekend, to fiberglass, fill the crack and then prep and spray...... whats he doin with it? sending it to japan to be fixed
monkip1 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 looks top dogs i couldent tell the difference my self
pezza_no1 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 3 weeks to fix a splitter... mine took me about a weekend, to fiberglass, fill the crack and then prep and spray......whats he doin with it? sending it to japan to be fixed  Lol, nah he done my splitter and front bumper ok. He's now got a STI-6 Rear Spoiler which he painted but totally missed the middle of the underside of the top bit and so had to redo it all. It was meant to of been done so I could of had it on for the Gahering last weekend, but still no sign of it. Last time I seen it he had started to sand it all down, back to the fibreglass to start all over again
