More Pc Help Please

Desktop was goosed so I am now using the laptop and the flipping keyboard has gone weird!

The Fn function seems to be locked on meaning that to get certain keys (such as u,i,o,p etc), I have to keep the Fn button depressed. Is there any way of unlocking this ?

You mean it does numbers 456* for uiop if yes

check the Numlock key.

It seems you haven't found the spellcheck yet St3ph3n.

The pesky thing switches itself on and off randomly it seems.

normally its in the bios to say enabled or disabled by default when you start the pc.

That's also in the link I gave him. also some key combinations when typing fast can cause the Fn lock to activate, so type slower (my dell is famous for this).

Fn lock.... is that the F***NG NUMPTY button? if so i seem to use that one a lot!!!
