Replacing Droplinks

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to replace the front/back droplinks on my 2002 model Bugeye Sti and need to know the exact ones to order(as in part number etc) also need to know if i have to replace the ARB's or can i leave on the original ones .Secondly is Whiteline the only product available or are there any others worth considering apart from standard items.

Any help appreciated.

no need to replace arb unless you want to.

are you getting a knock tommo?

think your front ones will be ball jointed with it being sti with alloy arms, so no benefit in replacing them unless worn i believe.

perrin, whiteline, powerflex, subaru, noltec all do them.

I have just had all the above carried out by Hypertech, except was advised to go for Tein springs instead of the Prodrive springs which I had in mind.

Great information from Dunc and a job well done by Hypertech. :D

The car feels fantastic now. :hl:

Will do a thread later this week when I get the car cleaned up a bit and have some pics taken and another mod in place. :barf:

I think Hypertech do free fitting on all Whiteline goodies! :hl:

They do indeed. :hl:

Spoke to the guy at Scoobyparts today and he told me there is 2 options for replacing the front droplinks on my newage, firstly the KLC32 (alloy without the bearing) or the KLC39 (steel with bearing) He recommended the KLC32 as the other ones with the bearings get noisy after time.Is this the best choice,or has anyone got other thoughts? :icon_pray:

Does it need to be the ones with the bearing due to having 'alloy arms' ?

Defo go for the alloy drop links Tommo & not the steel ones with the bearings! :icon_pray:

Hi Barry,

I take it they're okay to run with alloy arms then,or do you need bearing ones to ease stress on the alloy arm?- just a thought,i might be wrong.

Can anyone confirm this question as i need to order these today -Does it need to be the front droplinks with the bearings due to having 'alloy arms' on my 2002 Sti ?

if you have an STi with Alloy arms there is no point in replacing the front drop links as you already have spherical bearings on the front. Save your money, or buy something else.
