Advice Needed- Suddenly No Turbo

Recommended Posts

Driving to work on Friday and pulled into my mates works carpark to drop him off. Turned to head back out to my work 5 mins along the road. But when I pulled out I went to give her a little vrooommm, but there was nothing! She never boosted at all. Before that she was working fine. I've looked at the hoses and can't notice anything obviously wrong. The CEL aint on either. I can't hear the turbo spooling up now. Just looking for some advice to what might be wrong. I can rev her right up in neutral, but when driving I can't get much. My girlfriends Ka would leave me standing.

Thanks

The surclip on the actuator arm will have poped off the turbo.

Got a sports cat dp, no turbo sheild, so can see this no probs. The arm is fine! Nippy likes.

No movement in the arm. When I accelerate, nothing much happens. Really flat. Even if I go full throttle she won't really pick up any, just slowly builds up speed. Any sort of uphill stretch and I'm goosed, having to come down the gearbox.

It wont be the actuator as you would still hear the turbo spooling. More than likely that the turbo has seized. Try taking the inlet hose off and spining the compressor wheel by hand.

I'll try looking to see if the turbos seized. I'm running the standard dv. Getting a friend of a friend to look at her on Wednesday night. (subaru mechanic). Secretly hoping the turbo needs changed, the girlfriend doesn't need to know its a bigger one going in place. Does she?
