Richie Cross Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Hi folks, As we have the wee one now we got some of the sun visor things for the back windows but they aren't the best with all this great sun we're getting So, I was thinking about getting the rear windows tinted but wasn't sure about the look. Does it look 'unfinished'? Would any of you out there be able to post up a picture of your wagon with just the rear done? Or would anyone be able to photoshop on the picture of mine? Thanks very much
ur.a.bus Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 i've no pictures of mine (saloon though) i got my front windows done the lightest i could and it finished the job great.
speech Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 (edited) I wouldn't say it looks unfinished, well not anymore! I used to feel the same as you but the more I saw cars in general with just the rears done the more I appreciated the look. When I picked up the scoob she had tints all round, but after a couple of days the front passenger film started to peel, so to save any hassle from the boys in blue I decided to just pull off the fronts, really like the look of it now! Not the greatest pics, and it's a saloon, but might give you an idea - rears are a medium/dark tint (not limo black or anything like that) and the fronts are now clear. Edited July 8, 2008 by Speech
thewelsho Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 (edited) Yeah, I'm with you. Half tints do look like half done, however, two things: 1) So many people have them now that it is starting to look normal; 2) I think half tints look better on estate cars/wagons anyway. It jsut makes the car look more... I dunno what, but it just does, OK! Hope the picture helps. Oh, and have some new rims while you're at it Edited July 8, 2008 by TheWelsho

dan_jess Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Theres a Hawkeye wagon in the Japerformance thread with rear tints. You could get a light tint on the front windows so it blends in a bit more
Richie Cross Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 Ah, Keira!! Forgot about your wagon!!! Shows how long it's been since I made it to a meet!!!!
Richie Cross Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 (edited) Cheers everybody. I am liking the look of Keira and Paul's wagons. JW - cheers for the photoshop although...damn you! I'm liking the look of the new rims and brakes!!! Will speak to 'the wife'. It's obviously for the sake of the baby. Can't get sun in her eyes now! Edited July 8, 2008 by Richie Cross
gus the bus Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 (edited) Richie I went with the 70% on the front two windows and the darker 30% on the rest with the leggy. Looks less "harsh" than no tint IMHO. Gus Edited July 8, 2008 by Gus the Bus
bogie Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 1/2 tints look fine, especially on a wagon. I had 1/2 tints on my STi and I am planning to put them on my wagon too, just not got around to finding someone in Fife yet. I'm sure the GB270 wagon has 1/2 tints and it looks sweet
thewelsho Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I'm sure the GB270 wagon has 1/2 tints and it looks sweet Yeah it does and your right, it does look well tasty! I'm not a fan of wagons, but when I saw that, I was drooling!

You should also tell her that new wheels and brakes will make the car a whole lot safer for the baby too - haha!
