You could do worse than give Dunc at Hypertech a bell mate.

i have heard that there are places across the seas that you can get the stuff from which is cheaper.

Dare say there would be but at least if you be locally you'll have no problems should anything be wrong. No point saving a couple of quid here if it'll cost you more further down the line.

i got my sparkplugs from a place in edinburgh that was listed on scoobynets scoobyshop at half price

heatwrap was from scoobyparts.com

gaugeplace on ebay for gauges

headers would have been either andy f or flat4online but having talked about it with andy decided that i wouldnt see much difference at this stage, wait until i go for stage2 bigger turbo injectors etc.

Cusco Kid was doing a good deal on Defis with the pod all the attahcments and some other fancy stuff for £450. I'd have snapped them up myself if I had the cash.

My first stops would be

1. spark plugs - ngk 7's from Lateral

2. uprated clutch and flywheel - exedy from Lateral

3. oil catch can - ebay, cheap and cheerful

4. heat wrap and ties for downpipe etc - Lateral

5. oil pressure, oil temp and boost gauges - I got most of mine from ebay but check out the group buys on the MLR for defi's as rc developemts were doing good prices. They did d!ck me about a lot though but would have been much more expensive elsewhere. If it's not defi's check out Xyber autos

6. ported headers - Harvey did mine bu if you're going for after market ones Lateral again for the gt spec II's

7.rear anti roll bar - Geo a.k.a. cusco kid

8. pod for gauges (carbon fibre possibly) - JW racing

9. lowering springs - eh, dunno about this one

As I said these would be my first stops, by all means shop around and don't be afraid to play one place off another especially if you're buying a few things.

If you're thinking about buying abroad remember vat and import duty may bump up the prices.

thanks for all the info guys.

in terms of clutch and flywheel what is a good one to go for? the car is my every day runner and i used for work and i am probably going for an MOT friendly downpipe etc from meercat so will hopefully get abot 400 torque but not sure about bhp.

now the next question is DEFI or other makes???????????

Gauge place seem to do defi replicas and just wondered if anyone had them fitted. only drawback is they don't have the controller so they don't record peak etc.

I bought a 2nd hand set of gauges and they are fine, then I saw a set of Defis close up and its night and day. I will, one day, replace mine with Defis.

Thats what most people do, I ddi anyway.

If funds allow defi are the weapon of choice, failing that any gauge as long as it is accurate is better than none.

The standard clutch is not too bad in doing it's job even with a power up grade so don't replace it unless it goes Pete tong.

i suppose in that case in the famous words of DCI Lee when it breaks upgrade it so i will just do that lol

as for the gauges i think i will hold out for defis. i had a set on the tomcat 1 and they were cracking. i would hate to spend the money on cheapper ones and regret it,
