grant@AWD Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Hi all Scottish Scooby shootout Was just wondering if there is a date set for this at crail this year.
fai17 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) race car vs road car?? Not much of a test.Race cars always wins. Did you get my PM? But other wise i would be up for that Edited May 28, 2008 by fai 17
cullenmin Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I'm game...as long as its for all scoobs of various bhp and not just the big boys Rich
colin_ross Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 race car vs road car??Not much of a test.Race cars always wins. Wow, there's a challange. Pencil me in.
mikeyb13 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Count me in if theres anything organized. Not got the fastest car but Im game. Dont worry about racing the big boys as you wont get a better view than when your racing them. And you never know they might miss a gear. I "raced" Higgy a few weeks ago and seeing that Beast (the car, not Higgy) disappear into the distance was worth the entrance fee alone. Great chance for Newbies like me to get a good look at what can be done and how to do it.
oxbig1 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 this sounds like a good 1. am up for some of that. if any thin just 2 see how me and the car get on going down the strip
RS Grant Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Yea, I'd be up for it..... guessing we'd just organise to meet up and decend on a 'normal' Crail Thrash then?? They're the best as not a huge amount of people turn up to them. Cheers, Grant
jimser Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 so what dictates a race car? im sure all cars on the 1/4 mile thread are road legal? i'll have a go whatever but i'm sure grant is referring to the forum challenge of 2 years ago when jc scoob horsed all and sundry.

I remember that day, had a ball. It was us two in the final and there was less that a car length in it. Think there was meant to be an MLR/SIDC grudge match but they must have been washing their hair that day.
st3ph3n Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Shandy drinking ......... etc. Was a cracking day. I'd come back up if there was a good day like that on again.

JohnSt Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) so what dictates a race car? Good point Jim, Peter can hardly moan that his car is 'Standard' and can't compete against...... ? The Blue AWD car seems to be as road legal, and certainly relatively similarly modified to his own ! ---john--- Edited May 29, 2008 by JohnSt
colin_ross Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Driving it to and hopefully home from the event is a good start if you want to place yourself in the road car category.
braveheart Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 That sound's a great day out count me in if it's in July...only home for a month. Regards Chris.
jac Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Driving it to and hopefully home from the event is a good start if you want to place yourself in the road car category. I second that... M.O.T and drive to and fro, makes it a level playing field I'm up for a laugh.
JohnSt Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I second that... M.O.T and drive to and fro, makes it a level playing field I'm up for a laugh. New car is MOT'd Taxed and Insured.... and I have my 30L tank, I might have a go
colin_ross Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Hopefully the SIDC snappers can get a few pics of that one. Would your tyres last long enough to get their and back with your geo settings?
jac Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 New car is MOT'd Taxed and Insured.... and I have my 30L tank, I might have a go I already know that John, thats why it will be a laugh for me watching the big boys go head to head If it gets of the ground i'm sure it will be a brilliant day out, cant wait.
st3ph3n Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Would be interesting to see how well John's car would go up the strip without an engine
JohnSt Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Would be interesting to see how well John's car would go up the strip without an engine Ah, the young, how nieve they are. That was 4 days ago Stephen, get with the program. old engine was out before you posted 'I wonder if the engine is out' Do I look as if I muck about with these things ---john---
JohnSt Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Hopefully the SIDC snappers can get a few pics of that one. Would your tyres last long enough to get their and back with your geo settings? I'd be borrowing yours to get there
JohnSt Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 me watching the big boys go head to head If it's that kinda party I'm not going LOL
