Cret Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Morning dudes! Be nice to get a lightened flywheel for when I have to replace the clutch but am probably too skint now I have to save up for a wedding! Besides - it's not going to make the car run any better whilst it still has this bloody error code!
Dave K Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 << Besides - it's not going to make the car run any better whilst it still has this bloody error code! >> Mmmmm I believe SCP now have a diagnostic machine for Subaru, maybe this could help give you more info?

dooahhdoo Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Couple of questions dudes.................... If I were to get my hands on a flywheel, how much should I get skimmed off (father in law works at engineering firm and done one from a hillman imp). If I were to do this would it cure the constant judder I get when pulling off? What should the vertical camber be on the front wheels? Edited to add Dave you bling tart

Edited to add Dave you bling tart >> Dont know on the flywheel dude. Camber depends on your style of driving; I take it this is because of the outside edge going that you pointed out at the grandstand? In which case either 0 deg for neutral or as most alignment places in UK do is -1 deg. However I have read that toe in/out can cause wear on edges to. Best get alignment done, Fast Fit have the proper laser 4 wheel computer setup, but its £80.
Dave K Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Starting to finish parts off and putting stuff back together now. ISCV gone bling. Fuse Cover Test sample of the finished red wrinkle paint, worked ok. Dont know whAt these couLd be for Switches.
Cret Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 I'm guessing it's something that goes bang quite a lot..... Fegging exhaust came off over a speed bump this morning so I had to abandon the car and run back home. Grrrr! Today is going to be one of those days.
dooahhdoo Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Jim dude, you should be going slow over them things........... Not trying to jump them like the Dukes of Hazzard Not sweet dude
Cret Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Got it sorted again. Couldn't believe it though earlier. Just as I got back to the car after work to remove the zorst and drive off the police rang me. They said they'd received a complaint about where my car was parked from someone. They were fine when I explained I'd left it there because the exhaust had come off and was moving it the first possible chance but they had to check. I don't mind them ringing me but I do object to whoever the jobsworth prick was that complained. The exhaust came off on the road that goes along the edge of ballakermeen playing fields but a bit lower down where it's quite narrow and I carried on 50 yards or so with it dragging on the road so I could turn into the estate so it wouldn't be in the way. It was pretty close to the junction but off the main road and not in anyone's way so I can't believe someone made a complaint!! I hope their car breaks down in front of an oncoming train. Next time if it happens I'll leave it out on the road causing an obstruction seeing as there's no yellow lines. It might cause 10 times the inconvenience & danger to other drivers but at least it won't be parked in front of someone's precious house so it's ok!

Dave K Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Good luck with the exams Jimmy dude. Typical hey Jim, there is always some git who's got nothing better to do than cause agro. Going to have to watch the speed bumps myself now, 20mm drop all round. And the most surprising thing is how much stronger the brakes feel! But the best bit is the back end don?t bog down when booting it, err sorry in my case, when you lightly press the accelerator. Front Before Front After Rear Before Rear After More Post

Before Made a start Half way there Finished It's now baking in the sun to dry out before painting. Just degreased the inlet manifold ready for it's tarty red finish.

Boxer23 Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Not 100 per cent sure when I'm heading back yet but might be in a few weeks. Lots of things to sort out first. PS: I could have done all that manifold wrapping with 99p sheet of baco-foil! Lol
CustomScoobyIOM Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 Yeah but Dave can't afford the 100 Bacon Sarnies that you would charge What a session last year dude! Very very very el pistio!! What time does the ferries leave today.....!
Boxer23 Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 It's been too long since I've watched the innards of a Subaru engine bay being splayed out in farm outbuilding in the middle of Colby! Lol Dude, I told you not to cut that tiny wire on the ECU....would have saved you two days of putting an engine in and out a million times!! Lol
