paul555sti Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Great day out today! Met quite a few from the sidc. Didnt bother with many pictures as i am sure the resident photographers will be along with some but the two cars of the day for me were the Gobstopper and the 500 bhp lotus elise. The gobstopper had the carbon fibre wheels and the elise had a carbon fibre back end. Also spotted Andy F up watching the drifting.
nanaki Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 rather fetching cars there. looked even more stunning in the flesh when i was there earlier.

dan_jess Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Great day out. Was so happy to finally see the Gobstopper in action. Amazing! Lots of great cars competing and was shocked at just how quick and bloody loud some of them were. Paul- the car is looking good with the new wheels. I was passenger in the 555 (Strapper on this forums car) infront of you as we left Knockhill, and then behind you further down the road

Nice to see another 555.
strapper Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Yeah it was me and Dan up in my 555! Only had it 2 weeks but loving it, needs a few bits and bobs done but will get there in the end. Yours looks the gem paul. Great day out today!

The club did spend the entire weekend at Knockhill last weekend remember at the Motorfair.....I appreciate that todays event might have attracted more "like thinking" drivers with the type of cars on track but we cant be at everything.....however I will investigate what would be involved with a stand for next years event....and report back.....
the squiggle Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 What a day out at Knockhill today Thanks to Scott and Rosie for the use of the wee shelter when the wind picked up. Good to catch up wi Jacqui, Gee, Ac!d, Simmie, JohnS, Paul555STI, Marty (Will Jacqui and Marty get thier backside back on this forum.................please) Some of the Time Attack machine are on another planet in terms of times around the Hill and was a ruddy pleasure to witness them hit the Hill in full attack mode. Weather was ok for the Hill although it gota wee bit nippy at one point, literally 2 mins later it was scorchio We had a really productive day on McRae Gathering business. Managed to get, well i say managed it was more like Ollie could not get the sticker out my hand quick enough, Roger Clark Motorsport to place a McRae Gathering sticker on the Gobstopper. Not in some obscure place that no one would ever see but smack bang in the middle of the bonnet, right in front of the scoop. Truly special piece of equipment for the sticker to adorn. Ollie has also offered to do something rather special on the day for the Convoy from Banbury to Warwick, details to be announced soon. Also managed to get a sticker placed on the Autosportiff entry and also the Zen Performance car. P20SPD was the chosen one to sport a sticker in the Club Class. Wonderful day all in

spooks Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 I gotta say I was sad to see the lack of a SIDC stand, even more so when I found out no one tried to organise the event. I left the club in the "lurch" when I resigned so i guess you all can "blame" me ........ I can take it. The thing with this kind of event is although you will not attract new members its recognition for the club, I know knockhill would welcome us with open arms for the coming years.
