I can't say that there was a staggering difference between them and the Tein lowering springs - but its hard to say.
Joe G Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 Cheers. Really thinking of going for them as the price is pretty good. Just wanting to see what opinions there is on them.

Mines are the cheapest ones without the mounts: £650 plus fitting. I think it was £850 all in, including geometry. Plus they are hieight adjustable and you can also firm the ride up with the hex-key at the top. Not done either though as you need to take out the back seats to get at them. As I said, not too rough on the road either, but the car defo feels planted under you.
fai17 Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I have a set too...and it's wound quite low down. A bit hard for the road but should be good for the track....... If you want a comfy ride then you might need to go for a more expensive set up.
sKunk Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 (edited) I have Te4in Super Streets with the EDFC controller fitted as well. I like it a lot. The EDFC allows for a soft(ish) ride when cruising around and at the press of a button and the car stiffens up for a blast on the twisties  Edited May 2, 2008 by sKunk
ScoobySounds Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I was going to be getting Tein super streets until I was alerted to the existence of AST suspension. I'm just going to go for the ones without the top mounts.

Joe G Posted May 2, 2008 Author Posted May 2, 2008 Might just go for KYB rear shocks for the moment as they are the replacement under the waranty until i do a bit of saving for a good set of coilovers. Not wanting a really hard ride on the road and not planning on tracking the car this year (if at all). But you know what its like, will prob end up on the track at some point haha!!

I have driven cars with AST/TEIN/WHITELINE, at all above 400bhp and the AST and WHITELINE is streets ahead of the Tein kit... If it was me i would go for the WHITELINE kit, same as the Higgmister and the Borheed Bomber you will not be disappointed...

The car handling is fantastic, so I can't say more than that, Lovin' it!

ScoobySounds Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 So how do the AST's behave differently compared to TEIN's on the rough stuff?
jac Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 ScoobySounds said: So how do the AST's behave differently compared to TEIN's on the rough stuff? The AST,s can be set up for rebound witch will soak up the bumps. The TEIN.s rebound is to hard and makes the car skip over the bumps loosing you traction.

I have the Super Street on my car there pretty good but on bumpy roads at speed the car can be a bit of a handful but other than that i cant fault them as there a big improvent over standard Edited May 3, 2008 by Scoob Fae Ork
dipsy Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 (edited) I have the tein super street with upper mounts .I adjusted the damping force took it right to the hard setting gently with the allen key you can turn the adjuster with your fingers and hear it click then 10 clicks out seems alot better on country roads .I am running standard subaru geo settings and i have fitted spherical bearing drop links aswell. I'm not going to spend 650 on coilovers that make the car a nightmare to drive on a regular basis, i'd much rather scrape together somehow, the 1000 I need to make the car enjoyable on our ridiculous roads.

They are not that bad, really. By all means though, if you can stretch your budget, then that is always the best course of action. BTW, what is going down with your gear box?

BTW, what is going down with your gear box? all cool, I bought that one from scoobynet, it arrived and steve whitson from SW motorsport fitted it and I picked it up last week! its not an upgrade, but and least its educated me about gearboxes and what they're capable of, so i'll be taking it more easy on this one! so now its the handling blitz, new tyres, then detailing, then wheel refurb, then a smattering of engine mods.. THEN i'm finished. ..until PPG, of course, and then i'll need a new twin plate clutch too.. then i'm finished.
