glam Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 (edited) Having clocked-up a few miles this weekend, I should like to extend my heartfelt thanks to a few helpful drivers who wanted to advise me on best driving practise: Esp the extremely helpful individual who decided that blinding me with a continual blast of his full beam at close range was the best way to draw my attention to the fact that he wasn't of the opinion I needed my front spots on the pitch black road and he'd really rather that I turned them off What's the deal - I remember that rear fogs are a no-no unless visibility is seriously reduced, but not so clear on front spots? rae_sti Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 admitting to your speed on a open forum isnt best done, would edit you post to remove said speed,or at least say you were on a private runway when this occurred . just some advice from a fellow scoob driver
glam Posted April 28, 2008 Author Posted April 28, 2008 just some advice from a fellow scoob driver good point, cheers buddy!
twofourdonkey Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I particularly enjoy the old boys in flat caps that insist on flashing their lights and waving wildly, when I have completed an overtaking manouver with 1/2 a mile to spare.

monkip1 Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Driving with fogs on, when its infact not foggy is as un-cool and un-classy as wearing a bassball cap or sunglasses in the dark Hehe Glad my spot lamps are driving lamps so i can LEGALLY drive with them on I know iv been flashed for serving due to tiredness, been flashed for speeding through a camera dead handy that one ermmm im sure i got a few more things to think bout
glam Posted April 29, 2008 Author Posted April 29, 2008 Hehe Glad my spot lamps are driving lamps so i can LEGALLY drive with them on Perhaps I was wrong to assume that mine were too...... because the headlights aren't v bright (& side lights are blue.) Can anyone who's seen my car put me straight? I am not by nature an a*se, they don't seem overly bright to me when I've studied them.....
Sam B Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 A special thank you goes to the Landrover coming from the oppostie direction this lunch time whoes huge wheels and off road suspension meant he had to drive down the centre of the road to avoid the speed bumps. I particularly want to thank him for his kind hand gestures as I flashed my lights and made him pull to HIS side of the road to allow me to pass unmolested. It's not like I was even going fast, the hard suspension in my car makes me feel every notch and crack in the road as it is and if I go over them too quickly I'll rip the front spoiler off ! MUPPET !!

Driving lights would come on with high beam only and would make a big difference at night. On the scoob they are pretty poor fog lights as well, when I had my classic I turned them on once .... it didn't make any difference so I turned them off and never used them again. Remember to change your blue side lights back before MOT time as it will fail for this.
monkip1 Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 I dont think they are blue LED's bud, i have a set of LED bright white side lights which make a good difference over the dingy ones, only a few quid too . But being honest its hard to tell from the pic
