scouk Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Bugging me this... I always thought the UK300 editions were a range of classics then later a range of Bugeye impreza's... But I hear there were more than this ie.. blobeyes.. Anyone know the true facts behind the UK300 special editons? When, What models, specs... Curious to know... Thanks,
st3ph3n Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 There was a WRX300, which was a 2005 car. WR Blue with a few extra bits and some SWRT branding. The UK300 to the best of my knowledge was just a bugeye WRX with some prodrive bits. There was never any other UK300 cars.

Thanks, I thought the same as you m8 , that it was only bugeye's ! But i seen a blobeye that had UK300 decals on my way home from work a few weeks ago By the way , if theres any UK300 owners reading this post , scoobyphotos.com are looking for some pics of your cars , i now have a my car on their homepage because i highlighted the fact that they had no UK300's in their special editions section Paul

scouk Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 UK300 bugeyeWRX300 Blobeye. The rest!!!? Fakes So no later classics were "officially" branded as UK300's? which included prodrive goodies? I origonally though it was just Bugs.. Then heard a few peopel (on various forums) claim their classic was a UK300 model.. Then recently been hearing about Blobs being UK300's. So I was well confused.. But it's starting to clear up now thanks;)

But it's starting to clear up now thanks;) Really dont think there were ANY classics that were UK300 spec. only Newage. Also some UK270 wagons too. again only Newage. Person i bought my 98uk spec from claimed it to be a UK300. I smiled sweetly and told him in that case its not worth much then!!! Got the car for £3100 in immac cond. and 62k on the clock! and it was unmolested! (UNTIL I GOT IT!!)
UK300_loon Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 UK300's are definately bug eye only. You do see the Blob WRX300 being referred to as a UK300 all the time by dealers and owners, worrying really. Never heard of someone calling a classic a UK300 before Here's a wee link anyway. clicky thingemy The tight hugging STi seats are a defo winner. Unfortunately didn't get uprated brakes or suspension over the standard WRX, aaaargh! Al.
scouk Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 (edited) Ok... starting to look as though my intial understanding was right.. No such think an a UK300 in classic form.! Bugeye was the only UK300 (using the daughterboard ECU chip rather than remap for ppp? ) Blobeye had a WRX300's (anyone know the spec of this? simialr upgrades to the UK300?) Hawkeye, most recently had the GB270 range of both saloon and wagons. Edited March 28, 2008 by ScoUK
AlanG Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 (edited) Dunno 'bout UK300's but there was a guy up here once that had a classic UK500. Fast and subtle as **** that was. Edited March 28, 2008 by AlanG
UK300_loon Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 loving that classic, my old man had a '99 in that colour. Here's it after me givin' it a wee scrub Only changes were de-tangoed, black vents, magnex 6 x 4", de-cat and short shift with momo knob, not quite 500 brake right enough, but very tidy.

Exactly!!!! there never was a classic UK300 As for the GB270 i have heard of those being called UK270's and maybe thats where people get confused. I think there is a difference between the GB and UK spec cars. Someone confirm this? (i also didnt know there were saloons!!)
gus the bus Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 (edited) Blobeye WRX 300 which I once owned had Prodrive Pack, Subaru World Rally Team emblem seats in WR Blue, and stickers on the fog lamp covers. Gold alloys and Tracker as standard and "300" badging on the side and rear Other than that same kit as Blobeye WRX A wee pic of the (my) 300 Edited March 28, 2008 by Gus the Bus
