thewelsho Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 As a few peeps have already said John, the only thing that matters is that you're happy with the outcome. YOUR MONEY, YOUR DECISION. You're a braver man than most for going down this route in order to give your car a "one off" look.I thought about gold decals for my black car but at the end of the day my cahoonas ain't big enough Go for it mmmm that would have looked good!
oobster Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 How about.... The subaru stars - in gold - starting quite bold on the rear near-side and as they go over the roof and nearer the front offside they fade out gradually. And thats it. No other stickers that aren't gold.

oobster Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Open your mind.... There's a time attach car pic floating about somewhere - it's a white hawkeye and they've used a chequered-flag type design and faded it out as it gets nearer the front. I thought it was quite smart, but like others have said I didn't have enough brave pills to do it to mine.
oobster Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Or how about something like this, but with gold squares?
frank c Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 That looks better Andy, but if im honest ... after seeing the latest pics of your car at knockers, i think it looks the nuts the way it is
thewelsho Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 That looks better Andy, but if im honest ... after seeing the latest pics of your car at knockers, i think it looks the nuts the way it is I remember the design your talkign about Andy, and I contacted the guy and asked if he would mind if I copied him, but I went off the idea. Those ones above are alright, but not quite eye-catching enough. Thanks for the comments Frank, I do like it like that, but I think it still needs something to make it a bit more unique.
scouk Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 NOw I do like the above photos! That' looks great! Maybe part of the problem is that a WR BLue impreza looks best with some sort os swooshes because that's what were used to seeing.. Seems that any other colour is easy to find a design for, but when applied to the blue it doesn't look right! THe same will do doubt be for the chequered effect.. It looks good on black and the white because those are the chequered flag colours. Where as Blue and yellow naturally go together and in the car world that says Impreza WRC no matter what design is on it.. I think it's great to see welsho still considering graphics.. Somethign suitable will come along if you keep getting ideas! And it's will hopefulyl be good! But I think that somethign new and unique is maybe the way forward.. Perhaps with SIDC branding

Perhaps with SIDC branding Absolutley spot on, that IS the very problem. Blue and yellow go well together becasue of their relationship on the colour wheel. With that in mind, orange is pretty close to yellow and is also a suitable colour... I think. Think about Irn Bru, blue and orange and it looks good. Andy F had his car photoshopped with Irn Bru graphics which he sent to Barrs, but they knocked him back for the permission to use them. I never actaully go to see the pictures and it would be a bit naughty of me to nip in and steal his idea! I think I am going to go with the DC Shoes idea in orange as I think it will look better in stickers that it will in mock-ups. If it looks gash I can always remove them. SIDC branding has already been done by Phil the chairman guy and it looked really good on his white car.

I see your point that hte blue/orange can go together with the Irn-Bru connection.. And your also right that the graphics somehow always look better when they are on the car ratehr than photoshopped.. Looking back at the intial mock up.. the sides look good (minus the gumball references).. But I think the sunstrips are a little too big.. / in yo' face maybe a different design.. keepign the subaru theme.. But again that's maybe jsut hte photoshop effect.... Infact maybe just as per SWRT design Smaller /shorter text and a single DC logo at the left.. so: [DC LOGO] DCSHOECOUSA But smaller... same size of backing strip but smaller graphic.. Just a thought.. Look forward to seeing it when it's done actually...
thefastone Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I reckon with white Check... look the nuts... it just looks half a job just now...
marky.t.s Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 heres my tuppence worth J.W.....firstly it looks like i'm in the minority as i like the orange DC graphics,i think it was myself who first posted a pic of it in the first graphics thread.I do however think that orange wheels would be required to pull it off.But as you said orange does go with blue, anyone who says otherwise should go and pick up a dulux colour chart!!!!! As you said on previous posts you like your car to be different, and stand out from the crowd,so i would say go for it as said earlier, photoshopped pics cant do the contours, shadows, lines of the bodywork etc any justice, untill their on the car you wont really know.............orange wheels???????....now that will be different.....good luck with it whatever you decide mate.
thewelsho Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 are you goin dayglo orange or just flat orange Hmmm never thought about it. I'll see what's available and what doesn't fade of course!

Aye, I'd love to go orange on the wheels too! Like I said, I might paint my track wheels!
G.T. Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 what about some silver round the edges of the graphics just like irnbru , not takin the piss in anyway just might break it up a bit
iainc Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Looks like Im winning some converts!Aye, I'd love to go orange on the wheels too! Like I said, I might paint my track wheels! Heres me wondering about how to get a remap and full decat past the wife and you are whackin' on a new set of gfx onto a car that needs new parts to make it work properly again... personally I'd ensure it worked properly before I start adding more gfx to it, esp if you end up like last time and only last a year or so with them. Sorry... I know that people have said that blue and orange go together (as in Irn Bru) but IMHO they don't on a car. End of the day though its your money and your car so just do what you want anyway
