sczscoob Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 Ooh, Never noticed that... I was only out there the 2 days ago too! Oh and wait, thats about payday too.... Mmmmm... Can pick some stuff up for you if you like Dunk? I'm home on Monday night and i've been making up my list of wants for the last month! Better not take the wife with me, could be expensive
craig79 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Could be tempted to go to this. Think a face to face scenario is always better when it comes to polishing techniques and what products to use. Needing a few more goodies masel Craig.
RA Dunk Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Can pick some stuff up for you if you like Dunk? aye was after some of that poorboys wheel sealant (or what ever he recommends) for keeping the mess from the Ds2500s from sticking to my wheels, the strongest stuff or best stuff he has really as the deposits from these pads seem to end up welded to my alloys!!
thefastone Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Yeah thats the stuff... Ive got some and its good like... but as long as your cleaning them often then the stuff shouldn't stick, also i just got some menerza 7.5 Wheel and tyre gel, thats a good cleaner without being too harsh... (Rich says that use it every 2 weeks should keep your wheels pretty good, though its not strong enough to take the really heavy stuff off) I think that if your washing the car every week then just use it every second...
sczscoob Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 If you do have any crap on your alloys that won't shift. Get a clay bar on to it, i had a Galaxy to do last time home and the alloys hadn't been cleaned for 8 years!!!! 2 hours and a Megs Aggresive clay bar later they were back to silver again. Thought they were Gold when i first saw them.
RA Dunk Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 i want this stuff so i dont "need" to claybar them m8
thefastone Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 (edited) As long as this is the only time you ever use it, get the wonder wheels on it, then maintain it with the wheel sealant and then clean normally every week... every second week use the menerza 7.5... Edited March 20, 2008 by thefastone
RA Dunk Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 this stuff (ds2500`s) sticks to my wheels so bad i need wonder wheels with every wash, and thats usually once a week, i was hoping this stuff the poor boys stopped that
sczscoob Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 It's normally Megs APC i use, i try not to get them to bad, but there anthracite grey so you don't see the dirt to much on them. there always sealed in once i get it cleaned so it's a lot easier the next time round.
johns Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I'll be popping along at some point, given that it's local for me
westtra Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 i'll maby pop through in the new toy to get it some goodies.
scouk Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I'll try make it along at somepoint! Missed it last year
scooby222 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 dam, dont think il be up for this and i was after the wheel sealant too. cant believe how quickly the polished lip on the integra wheels gets manky, and how much of a pain in the archie it is to clean all the spokes and studs!
redrocketjim Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Il prob head over at some point im quite intrested in sum off there products!!! may even be nice weather to take the car over lol
craig79 Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) They do have alot of goodies but just no sure aboot their new fangled 'bog brush' for cleaning the backs of alloys Craig. Edited March 22, 2008 by craig79
thefastone Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 PMSL!!!! Yeah the bog brush is not really doing it for me either!!!!
boris b Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 I use the good old Ikea bottle brush for the wheels with tesco own brand wheel cleaner... gr8 job. On another wheel note tho.. with all the bikes i've had in the past i've used Mr Sheene to remove the oil etc.. Then coat them with WD40... made them easier to clean as the dirt settles on the wd40 film and wipes off easily... Gonna try that on my car wheels... when i get it down off the axle stands..
thefastone Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Dude! That wheel cleaner? is that like wonder wheels...? if so then stop using it, as you are really going to make a mess of your wheels using that regular mate! that kind of wheel cleaner is OK like once in a lifetime... but you really need to use something more mild... and as for protecting them, (and making them easier to clean) the wheel sealant is great for that...
stubaroo Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 They do have alot of goodies but just no sure aboot their new fangled 'bog brush'for cleaning the backs of alloys Craig. PMSL!!!! Yeah the bog brush is not really doing it for me either!!!! Are we talking about the Meguiars brushes. Megs Ultra Safe Wheel Spoke Brush Megs Angled Face Wheel Brush I use both these brushes and they are excellent products that make a difficult job easier. Highly recommended.
