Hi guys my car has started pulling to the left when you accelerete it seems to be in the higher gears eg 5-6. I dont seem to feel it in the lower gears much at all. I have just had 4 new Pirellis fitted as i felt it more with them so i had the tracking re set and had all the bushes front and rear checked and they all seem tight so now im fast running out of ideas any of you guys have an idea what it could be.

just an idea but have you looked at brakes?

i had sticking pistons in calipers and car would pull to the right as that brake was always on. doubt you would have caliper problems with the year of your car but you never know

Get the geometry checked to see if the camber or castor is out .Had this on a classic but pulling the other way and booked it in for geometry done and that sorted it

Could still be the problem though> I had mine stripped and the pads replaced. Both had seized pistons at the time. Within 3-4 months I had the same feeling and an incredible amount of brake dust. Had them stripped again and again pistons on one side had seized. Got them over hauled and never had the problem again in 6 months up to me killing the car.

thats odd, i just had two new tyres on the front,f1 eagles, and my cars doing the same despite a full geo setup and new pads/calipers cleaned. was suggested to me to try swapping the wheels front and rear to see if it still does it

Can i ask does your car have hight adjustible shocks on i was told i might have one corner sitting lower than the other side. Which would cause the pulling off to one side.

Could be just the Camber? and your only noticing it because of the new tyres....?

Just a thought like...?

I had noticed it before the tyre change but i guess going from cheap tyres to top of the range ones has let me feel it more. When i come off shift again al look at getting the camber checked me thinks and al take it from there

I tested my camber and i have found the passenger front wheel has a negative camber around 3.5 mm more than the driver side am i guessin right this could be my problem?????.

yes that is our problem...

you'll want -1.5 degrees per side for your fronts.

Don't think it was mentioend but have you made sure tyre pressures are even from side to side?

Failing that you seem to have covered pretty much everything.... Only silly suggestion I have is a duff diff! Maybe somethign is affective it's ability to distribute the power evenly the way it should.. Long shot but you've gone through everything else I coudl think of...

Is the car just drifitng off to the left or do you feel the car pulling through the steering?

Yeah all the tyre pressures are the same . As for the steering you have to turn against it the whole time and then a lot more so when you accelerate i wondered about the diff but AWD and a few other garages have been telling me this is highly unlikely but which would probbly be the case for me with my luck with cars. :P

Woo Hoo solved the problem finally !!!!!! it was the left side strut top mount that was the wrong way round so i changed it to the way it should be and then re-set the geometry as it put the wheel 3/4 of an inch out :occasion14: so set that an Bobs youur uncle Fannys your aunt and every body S**** your sister its sorted
