Top Gear Mini Sti Review

Just found this at the top gear website, they recently drove the STI in Japan:

...and they like it.

The car's a proper technical tour de force. But the tech stuff actually works. It's a better STi than before, and that makes it one of the world's great performance cars, end of story.

Sounds like the ECU setup is a lot better on the new models... wonder if it's backwards compatible with the other 2.5l boxers?

Thinking the new STI will be a bit special to drive with the multi mode DCCD

The 3 maps should prove interesting when it somes to remapping the thing for our fuel quality

From day one i knew it was due to the lack of success in the WRC, gotta admire the baws of the top brass to be so drastic with thier ranges best seller's redesign just to regain the WRC title.

Good on them and if i could afford to import one i would

This car is growing on me by the day..........I prefer the look of the Hawk-eye but the Snake-eye © is gonna be a B-road monster

If I hadn't seen the look of it (especially the rear end) I'd be VERY excited!

I like the front of it, particualrly that new scoop! just not from any other angle

But yeah, sounds like it's goign to be a clear king of the kill on the B-Roads once again! Let's hope it starts winnign WRC events again and subaru/prodrive gives it a nice butt in 2009!!
