micra_wrc Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 thanks to the 14 cars who turned up for the wee run, and I Dale thefastone for making the journey down from Aberdeen hit the jackpot with the weather today, warm and sunny like a summer's day. Roads were great and only had light traffic. Sheep were also great, they stayed stationary this time! almost had an incident with a grouse or two, but nailed a single track hump back bridge and got some air right those that brought their cameras, get those photos up LoL
ANDYJDMSTI Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Very good day indeed! Great roads, afew close calls with the splitter but it is all good!! Respect to Dale for coming from Aberdeen, nice brakes you have.....only noticed them on the M74 on the way home when you were beside me
ScoobyDav Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 As i said on the other post had a great day thanks to everybody
the squiggle Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 This picture nearly cost me a very treasured possession Only other picture i got Great day, great weather, great roads and great banter Hearing Andy's WRC Machine poping through the valley was awesome and we were 6 cars away, the car sounds as WRC as it looks. Nice one Imy for organising, spot on with no wrong turns.

marky.t.s Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 (edited) wow! what a day for a run,and what a run it was,i hadnt been this route before so it was all new to me,some amazing, technical twists ,turns, cambers, blind crests(yes Imy i gave it a squirt on the approach to that humpback bridge as well.......yeehaaa! ).I was behind AndyJDMsti on the first leg and as squiggle said the popping and banging was awesome .On some roads where the sheep were wondering on the road, the sound of Andy's WRC machine had them running away before the big guy(The fast one) from Aberdeen could get anywhere near them . All the roads were dry so we could "enjoy" ourselves, some really nice scenery along the way as well. All in all it was a good way to end the "season" which was not bad for October, once again thanks to Imy and Grant for a crackin' day oot. heres a few pics from the day.............. ello..ello..ello...whats all this then?........ and finally one of the old girl having a break............. scoobaroo Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 (edited) A few pics that I took today, if anyone wants no. plates deleted i`ll sort As for stories , nothing to add apart from a great bunch off peeps and the roads and scenery were stunning. marky.t.s Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 for those of you obsessed with fuel consumption figures........as the price of V-power is going to go through the roof ,i thought i'd empty the tank and try Tesco 99 for the first time, now i've always been a bit wary of supermarket fuel, especially after the recent" dodgy"batch problems,so it was always V-power for me. So where better to try out Tesco 99 than a wee run, firstly i found no difference in performance, but as the run progressed i felt the pick-up was getting better especially out of slow tight corners,i could have imagined all this mind you but it did feel slightly better. I'm not one for working out fuel consumption,so it worked out about 3/4 of a tank approx 50 quid(99p/ltr) for a "spirited" run today which was 215 miles from Cumbernauld and back,in a 00/my uk turbo with NO mods except a de-cat centre section and a s/steel backbox. So i'll give the Tesco stuff a go for a wee while yet i think.
st3ph3n Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Looks like a smashing day. Sorry I missed it, but a long run with a dicky wheel bearing and a gearbox that occasionaly doesn't fancy going from 4th to anywhere isn't wise. Not that being wise is something I'm often accused of.

imprezapete Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 (edited) Looks like you folks took in some of the roads I took load of people around 2 years ago on a run Stopped at that very pub and passed a good few of those roads to, stop at Jedburgh for Optimax by any chance? Hope they were fun, did you try the back road from Cappercleuch (St Marys Lake) to the Megget then Talla out at Tweedsmuir on the Moffat road? We did that nearly pitch dark on our run, had some people crapping theirselves that time. Nothing like a 300 foot drop on a single track road with a half up stone ###### wall. I think the decline was about 30-40% lol FUN Edited October 7, 2007 by ImprezaPete
micra_wrc Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 hey Pete, long time no hear. Hope you are well. We went a different way but did stop off at St Marys Loch for some ice cream and to enjoy the tranquility of the scenery, along with some bikers LoL
