Wow! Nice one Marty. Perhaps you could have this wee tutorial posted elsewhere on the forum as a guide for other users too.

Just my 2p worth - my '97 classic started running v. rough and turned out to be a knackered Lambda sensor. Was fine on boost but a nightmare round town/steady throttle.

I checked it using a voltmeter - was sticking at about 0.2v whereas it should be bouncing between 0.4 - 0.8 when cruising I think (those more knowledgeable can correct me). Fitted an AFR gauge after that to keep an eye on it. £50 for a replacement and everything good.

I sent an e-mail to AndyF regarding my problem. It turns out that the car being low on fuel casued the ECU to pick it up as a misfire. It would appear that the ECU then retarded the ignition thus making the car run rough. Resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes did the trick!

Thanks to all for your suggestions and help. Very much appreciated.

Yes, I'm loving it all over again! I think Crail is on the cards for the end of the month.

I might come along for that one to give you some guidance :(
