seano Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Hi all just to say iv sold my evo and im on the lookout for a jdm subaru 2003 onwards preferibly a spec c.I have found two on pistonheads but have been let down with one tonight due to the fact the car has never been SVAd and i have heard this very exspensive.I have found another one.2003 spec c,18k 2owners and was imported new and is the best colour as well(white). But if anyone know of any other ones out there let me know thanks Sean
dan_jess Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Hi mate, SVA test isnt expensive. But im pretty sure any car under 10 years old needs the SVA test before it can be registered and put on the road. Was the car you went to see a fresh import?

If the Spec C was MY05 or older then you could hire a model report for it and SVA it yourself, but it's not that cheap as the car has to match the model report exactly. I bought my MY05 Spec C from www.performance-centre-manchester.co.uk.

I bought my MY05 Spec C from www.performance-centre-manchester.co.uk. Its on pistonheads, but it came from keighley trade center down south and people are putting me off it,it has stickers up the side saying spec c you cant miss it on pages 2or3.There is another one, 2003 thats £14000 and that means i have got money to spend straght away on it.What should i do, the 2006 one is also at the bottom of the contry. I WANT ANOTHER SUBARU
sti pretender Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 What about Andy's Fatboy. It looks even better in real life, saw it at a Glasgow meet and attention to detail is amazing. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=105546

scoobymark Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Would love it but to dear for me seano, keighley trade center do not get good press at all, they are always saying how crap keighley's are on scoobynet. iam sure alot of their cars are sheds close up and they also refuse to give genuine interested buyers a test drive. with they cash something good will turn up mark
chris1scouser Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Sean i nearly bought a car from Keighley but the way they talked to me on the phone put me off. give them a bell and ask a few questions about the car make your own mind up. try www.carplanetltd.co.uk in warrington. there is also an auction for imported cars every wednesday in liverpool. i've never been so don't know what the cars are like. batter car importers into a search engine see what results come out. i have bought the odd duff motor in the past and paid dear. don't let your heart rule your head. Do a HPI get an engineer to look at the car. take it for a serious test drive too.

P1_Paul Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Dicksons of Dunblane have had an sti9 for some time have they got a good name? They've had that car since March, dunno why. For peace of mind and if you can wait, I'd import one fresh from Japan. Either from the place I mentioned above or Litchfield. Infact PCM have a nice MY05 JDM STi in stock.
oobster Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) Wasn't Dicksons of Dunblane on the new recently because of some court case and the judge was very scathing of the owner? Edit: Found the link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/taysid...ral/6949646.stm Edited September 13, 2007 by oobster
dipsy Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Dicksons of Dunblane are useless and there after sales service is sh!t.I think Brian Downie has a Jdm sti for sale
sti pretender Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I'm sure Dickson's had a STI9 for sale when I was looking last September was just under 20k cause I was happier going for a pre-reg UK STI9 for the same price. Looks like the same pics.
paul555sti Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 One on scoobynet! http://bbs.scoobynet.com/private-sale-cars...y04-350bhp.html
sti pretender Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I know its not a Spec C and might be older than you are looking for but for 18k this must be a bargain. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=104399
seano Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 Can you give me an idea what i can get from PCM i am gaging for another subaru!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
westtra Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 the is a jdm sti at brian downie. bit over priced though IMHO
Rednosespeccltd Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Dont just buy one mate for the quickness of it, i waited 3 months for my spec c, got it from Litchfields and drove all the way down there to pick it up, its worth waiting for the right car IMO. Do not go near KTC as i went to see some cars a year or so ago, load of sh*te mate, bits missing bad paint, some oviously crash repaired, but its your call. There are a few JDM's on Scoobynet at the moment, its worth waiting for the right on IMO. Good luck. Mac
seano Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 I have been looking at a white spec c on page 33 on pistonheads.I have spoke to the guy and it sound good,it has a good history as well

It is a 6 speed box with close ratio gearing.
dipsy Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Torque wise 283lbt for 2003 jdm sti and spec c
seano Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 So what would be the best mods that i could do for about 1500-2000grand and what power would i be looking at.The car is standerd apart from a re map for uk fuel.I dont no what kind of map was done but it was done by http://www.svaimports.com/ This is wear the car was bought from has anyone heard of them.

With that money you'd be looking at 350-360 bhp and the same ammount of torque and a bloody quick car to boot. I've got a Milltek full decat exhaust, air filter and an Andy F remap.
