C_WRX Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 About to put the car in for it's 3year service and want to use a Subaru garage this time round (last chance for any possible warranty work). I'm based fairly equal distance to Falkirk / Glasgow / Ayr. Quickly reading through previous forums looks like perhaps Falkirk is better to go too ? Thoughts / suggestions ?
colzo Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Never had any problems with Ian Grieve in Falkirk. Great service and you`ll get a discount if you`re a fully paid up member of the club.
scoobymark Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Ian grieve at camelon gives a good service. mark
tazmaniandevil Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Can't rate Ian Greive Falkirk highly enough. I needed parts for my import '92 Legacy wagon, and the parts dept. bent over backwards for me.

sandycam Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 another vote for ian grieves here. Dealt only with gav but was first class and help was well above the expected
andy Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 My first experience with them wasn't great, but they were totally new to the Scoobie scene then and they sorted things pronto. Must admit, I booked my car in for a service there two weeks ago failing to realise it was when I was doing this website migration and never turned up. Gonna have to call and apologise for being a no-show, but hopefully they'll understand.

martin_allen Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Another vote here. which service is it? I just had cambelt done there and with discount it was the same price as many "cheaper specialists" with the bonus of getting the book stamped. Next one is all the plugs and things though, i don't want to ask what that might cost! 5t.

Got it booked with Falkirk now after all the positive chat. 3year service (not quite reached the 30k mark yet!). Supposedly a 3 hour long service and been told it is £400 - normally I'd pass out at that point but it was cheaper than other Subaru garages I called - joys of owning a Subaru I guess. Normally I wouldn't go to Subaru garage but with it being the last one before the warranty runs out they may notice something during their 3 hour tour round my car that will justify it (method in my madness somewhere) !

If you aren't an SIDC member sign up now. @ £35 you'll save £40 off the price as they do 10% off parts and labour so it will pay for itself immediately! 5t.

Just remember to show your card when you drop the car off, not when you pick it up like I did! The invoice was all made up though the computer and it seemed to cause them a bit of a headache. I made swift exit!
darren_connor Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Well guys i got my bug eye from Gav @ greives, the car had loads of wee niggling problems(like o2 sensors, leaking sump, leaking rocker cover gaskets) They sorted most of it out under warranty but I now take my car up to AWD motorsport in Perth. Grant and the guys have done all the mods to my car and yesterday they carried out its 60k service and got it mot'd for me, Ive always found them to be great value and always honest upfront about potential other costs. But its each to there own i guess lol

Guess it is just your luck sometimes. Incidently, I was up in Stirling this morning and noticed that Ian Grieve Vauxhall was now Arnold Clark. Anyone know if their Subaru branch changing as well? P1_Paul Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 (edited) I ordered a part for my stereo from the parts dept. around 5 weeks ago, I was told the part was in around 3-4 days after it was ordered, I was told it was sent to me on numerous occasions over the first 2 weeks. It never arrived, the first guy I was dealing with went on holliday for two weeks and NEVER returned any of my calls. It took another two weeks of calls not being returned and more BS for it to arrive, only for the screws I'd ordered at the same time not to arrive, receieved them the a couple of days later after another call. When I went to fit the bracket, guess what, it was the wrong bracket. Great!! All this for parts totaling £3, don't think I'll be giving them any more of my business!
