frank c Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) My car is booked in for another remap in a couple of weeks and will hopefully be fitting some suspension soon ,then the mods will be done....WoooooooHooooooooo.............well... for now at least .. For the guys on here who have helped me out whilst mooding my car, all i can say is THANKS very much...you know who you are. There are two main guys i need to say a special thanks to for their time , patience , knowledge and understanding. First of all I'd like to thank Alan Garrod.. What can i say buddy.. Any time I've had a problem/queery about my car you've been MORE than helpful in sorting me out, never mind saving me a few quid while modding my car. I can't thank you enough mate. I'm just glad i got the chance to go for a wee spin in the "UK500" before you let it go. This car was a true testament of your attention to detail and knowledge of the Impreza. I just wish i could put into words of how mentally rapid and well sorted this car was/is. Well Done ! Just remember to look after the magazines that your car was featured in , a cracking read and some great pics for you to remember just how good a job you did.. Last but not least.........Cheers Dave (drb5) Thanks for all the help doooood. Much appreciated. Your the kind of guys that make this place what it is and make owning an Impreza more enjoyable than i could ever of imagined. . Always there to help and hopefully had a good laugh along the way ( as long as you dinnae mention the copy/paste saga) Enjoy your P1 matey, it's a stunner. Thanks Again to ALL involved Frank the Pest Edited August 22, 2007 by Frank C
jodie typeRA Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 good luck in ya remap frank i hope you get the figures you after mate copy/paste lol i remember you telling me
AlanG Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Been a pleasure Frank. You'll have a well sorted out car once it's done. Now's the time to get it mapped and get out there and enjoy it!
st3ph3n Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Great news Frank. You've set about that car with a clear purposes and took your time to do it right which is very commendable and I hope you get the results to show for it. Then swing up past my office as the noise of a scooby reverberating off the narrow Canonsgate is an awesome thing to behold!
ally-b Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I can't wait to hear your report after your mapping Whens the big day ? Oh , and whats the latest spec ? Al.
drb5 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Not a problem at all. Always happy to help in any way i can. Just remember and get over this way, once it's all mapped up. Alan.............next time i see you, i fully intend on watching you try to "mosh" like your wee smilie there. That will be rather amusing.
frank c Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 My car is booked in for the 6th of September and i can't wait to be honest.. I've already had to cancel an appointment due to a couple of little niggles but hopefully everything is sorted now.. I don't think i've driven it in 2 months I've haven't went mad this time round on the engine, just the usual mods... Ported headers, CAK, a wee hybrid turbo and I'm trying a hyperflow TMIC . I'm hoping the TMIC works well if not I'll change it for an STi 7 one, which i probably should have fitted first time round but hey ho ...I'll just need to wait and see what Andy thinks of it. I've tried to concentrate more on the handling side of things with it being a Uk model so I've went for the usual Whiteline goodies and will finish it off with some P1 suspension (getting fitted soon ).. Brakes are not too bad at the moment with the Ferodos , hoses etc.. so no need for a BIG brake kit just yet . Funnily enough , it's starting to look like Alans old car with the ST2's, P1 lamps and STi front splitter , it just hasn't got the the HUGE spec engine in it.. Sadly lol and it wasn't intentional Alan ...........Honest I put it down to good taste and also like the standard-ish look.. If i get around the 3oo mark I'll be more than content as the handling should complement the rest of the mods. Next year i might think about a tad more power but nothing OTT . 350-360 of both flavours seems decent enough for a well sorted road car so who knows what will happen next , maybe a 2.5 with a 16 or 18 G ... The bank account will have more to do with it than i will Once again, thanks to all involved in my wee project and I'll let yous all know how i get on. regards Frank
