today's RR day @ Extreme

Just back from today's rolling road day at Extreme, Whitburn

Not too sure what the figures are for folk that were on the rollers, was at the tea station for most of the day.

Thanks to Marty and Spooks for organising this - folk looked like they were having fun.

Also thanks to Rosie for the tons of baking she did (the caramel cake was lovely), providing the supplies and generally making sure everyone was happy.

Good to catch up with everyone too [:D]

We did well with the raffle but everyone was woefully poor at Squirrel's subaru trivia quiz... there was no need for a tie breaker question, the highest score was 5.5 out of 10!  [;)] Well done Spooks - the guy that doesnt drink but has won a case of lager!

Some pics from today's RR Day below. I've tried to resize them to fit the forum, and removed all the reg. plates (I think!)

Enjoyed the three hours I spent there this morning, before having to take the wife to the shops [;)]  Well done to those that organised it and John's extreme set-up looks very professional.

Congrats to Marty on the day, well organised and it went well overall, hell he even got the weather. Thanks to all that attended and helped raise money for Santa cruise, it will be greatly appreciated Im sure.

The guys at Extreme were brilliant, letting us use the place as if it were ours and a very professional dyno.

BTW Higgy that car is an animal, even made me cry [;)]

Well done to all involved in this. [:)]

I'm very keen, as is St3ph3n, to see reports and photos of events such as this as news stories on the front page of the new website. I don't think we utilise that asset nearly enough at the moment. It's the first place newcomers will arrive at and we need to make more of it to show what the Club is about and the sort of events that go on with regular updates to keep people coming back. Forum threads are fine, but they're not the easiest to find, don't really give the outside world a view into things and soon disappear into the archives.

If somebody can get a story and a few pics from this to either St3ph3n or myself by Wednesday then I'll guarantee front page coverage when the new site goes live [:o]

Got an idea regards something similar, will be in touch with yourselves and Phil soon as I try a few things. I will try and send a story if I get a few moments though.

Ok manage to rearrange my lower intestines thanks to blueboy never been more please to get out an impreza [:o] iam sure peter was too as he was reaching for the imaginary foot brake.

Was a good day all in all, nice to see the old faces and talk to the new, thanks to the tea ladys for the powdered hot choclate [:)]  lovely coco goodness there and to see the black horse on the rollers was a sight, sound and smell to behold. Also well done to Jac and Marty for breaking the 400 great results guys.

Until next time Over n Out

Great day, big thanks to Scott and Marty for organising it, Extreme Motorsport - top blokes and the EVO is something else and of course Rosie and Imy for making sure everyone was well supplied with tea, coffee and cakes. Seeing Higgy's car on the roller was an experience the noise was unbelievable and great figures.

My figures 329.1bhp @ 6713rpm and 310.2lbf.ft @ 4602rpm - more than happy.

Had a pretty hectic weekend to say the least, "which is why im late with my post [:$]" which paled into insignificance when I jumped into the car on Sunday morning and the sun broke through the clouds [:o]

I would personally like to thank all of those who participated on the day, first of all to John, George and the lads from Extreme who ran the show in a professional and informative manner, with lots of feedback for the runners to contemplate, and as Spooks mentioned earlier, let us have free reign of the premises for the day. [Y]

Rosemarie and Imy, what can I say, you kept us going throughout the day and providing us with much needed refreshments and top notch home cooking. What would we do without you, doesn't bare thinking about [Y]

Also like to take this opportunity to thank Scott aka Spooks for his support and help with getting this up and running, cheers [*] [Y]

There were also some great raffle prizes, which were kindly donated by members of the club and Extreme. Some of these have been held over until the Forum is updated later in the week, keep your eyes peeled for these in the coming week. The total raised will be posted once the remaining goodies have been raffled [G] [Y] Oh, and Grants quiz, didn't disgrace myself unlike some members who will remain unnamed Blueboy [:$] can you make them a wee bit easier next time m8 lol, lol.

The cars themselves were of a very high standard with Simon aka Higgy powering to a very impressive 505 BHP, Jac 416 BHP being another happy camper [:)] some interesting non Scoobs on show too with an Integrale, Golf Gti and Cupra TypeR producing great figures.

Once again, Thank-you [Y] to all who made this Event such a success, your contributions and involvement was what made this such an enjoyable and great day [:P] [:P] [:P]

p.s. hope you all had as good a day as I did [au] [Y]

Marty.
