stevie 4 Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 i just thought i would write a wee report just in case anyone else is interested. after writing a post a while back on what oil additives do you use and people having different views i thought i would tell you how i got on with cusco kids teflon additive for the gearbox. before i put the additive in i had crunching in 1st 2nd and 3rd gears. after putting in the additive 3rd still crunches a little when hot but not nearly as bad as it did. and it was bad. 2nd i have no crunching at all and 1st now only crunches a little if i try to put it in 1st before iv stopped moving. overall my gearbox feels much better and smoother and i definitely feel iv bought myself some time before i need to do anything about replacing or reconditioning the box.and when i do have to recon or change the box i will definitely be going back for some more. i definitely recommend putting it in your box great stuff cusco cheers

cusco kid Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 i have used teflon for years in motorsport applications//rally cars race cars/police cars etc ,some people think they know it all when it comes to additives, i can only j tell you my experencies with the additives, i have cured many an engine noise with it /g/box problems with it and i was at a test in kincardine power station on a pump that was always running hot and burning out bearings ,the SAID PUMP WAS RUNNING AT 20-25 DEGREES ABOVE SAFE LIMIT, after teflon was added it run 12-15 deg /cooler .i can only advise people about teflon geo
thewelsho Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 George: If I drink that stuff, will it ease my creaking joints!? Seems to work for everything else!

Better get some more Teflon in there George before we lose half of Scotland.
thewelsho Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Quote would we really miss that half though?... [] LOL! Well, Knockhill is over that way, so as long as that is unaffected and a route is available to us, then I guess not! []
