bill Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Hi all, Any recommendations for garages that use the correct size tyre fitting equipment for 225/45 on 7x17 wheels and that fit the balance weight on the wheel body, not the rim? Preferably near the A9 or West Central Scotland. TIA, Bill

jamesm Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 kwikfit m8 they are insured if they damage anything Wouldn't trust Kwik Fit as far as I could throw them. My parents have used Jim Dickson for years and he is always spot on! [Y]
johns Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Ronnie at Wheels Around in Auchterarder is just off the A9, who also attends all our track events. www.wheelsaround.com for contact details. John
todd jnr Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 if you do use kwik fit tell them you want your wheels dynamic balanced(for alloys). thats when they use the sticky wieghts on the alloy in 2 places.most places just static balance wheels(thats meant for bike wheels).oh and by the way im a supervisor for kwik fit.[:$]
dark Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Be careful because the stick on weights will quite often foul the front brake calipers if you have STI Brembo's or aftermarket AP's, Alcons, etc...... Mark

JohnSt Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 As reported above, Jim Dickson is the boy for the job. BTW 225 is a little on the wide side for a 7" rim !!
