Got a letter this morning from Porsche offering me an extended test drive in a Cayman! Just need to phone and book it. I`m not into going for test drives unless I`m actually interested in buying the car but don`t want to miss this opportunity. Would you guys go for it?

I probably would, but then I'm not just so keen on the Caymen... any other model I probably wouldn't even hesitate....

Book the test drive for the next Knockhill and rag it within an inch of its life, baldy tyres, clutch destroyed and brakes burnt out.  Take it back to them and say the Scoob would have handled it a bit better

Now there`s a thought! [A]

ive driven a few porsches,944 which was ok,bit slow,911 but only into the garage and was crappin myself in case i pranged it and a 2.5 boxter which handled ok but didnt feel that quick and was no match for my V5 type R on a run.

Could be fun, if only to remind yourself how good the Scoob is![:(] My mate just spent £97k on a 997 Turbo with 4000 miles on the clock.  My own classic wagon is only putting out 337bhp/309lb and I was neck and neck with his Porsche on the straights at Knockhill.  Forget the Porsche, just get an Andy Forrest remap - Much cheaper and just as quick [:D]

I would definately go for it, I had a Caymen S for a day (a gift) and this car is sublime! It certainly isn't slow, the stats say it is every bit as quick as my 05 STi PPP to 100 and keeps going all the way to 170 (where allowed to). The engine note is amazing, sitting just behind your ears, and the cars handling ability defies belief. The cabin is a great place to sit in and the build quality is second to none.

One warning though....... you may remortgage the house to buy one afterwards (I'm still thinking about it!) [:D]

Has anybody been for this yet?

I got my invitation in and would like to try it out but we were wondering if there were any catches?

There is probably more catches than you care to think of.
