l210lnf Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 any one help me with choosing a good set of rubber good for wet and dry? cheers
gus the bus Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Yokohama Parada would get my vote every time[Y] or Toyo T1R's
RS Grant Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 For ALL round amazing performance I fail to see past Goodyear Eagle F1s mate... As good as Yoko/Toyo in dry stuff but in the wet they are way better and you still get large levels of grip. Top tyre, when I/family have been buying replacement tyres we haven't chosen anything else for the past 5 years anyway. [H] Cheers, Grant
cusco kid Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 yoko pradas m8 great track tyres and road tyres good all rounder give me a size and i will get you a price on any tyre geo
the blue dragon Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Yoko parada spec II's mate, have run paradas on my cars since they came out and think they are def the best.( only my opinion tho) Iain

The GY Eagle F1 is the best all round tyre on the market by a long way. I will not buy any other brand. Dave
johns Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 I've been through quite a few sets of F1s over the past 5 years and they are a great tyre. However, last time out I tried Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, and in my opinion they were better all round that the F1. More grip and more confidence inspiring in the dry, and almost as good in the wet. Seemed to wear better as well, as the F1s always seem to scrub the shoulders quite quickly on my cars, and the PS2s also had slighly less road noise. Only £109 fully fitted from Costco in 225/45x17 John
Alan-G Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 yoko pradas m8 great track tyres and road tyres good all rounder give me a size and i will get you a price on any tyre geo 4 x (215 x 45 x 17) Geo ?
phil Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Yoko's for me And they are available in the SIDC Store ;o)
z1000 Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Don't like yoko's at all but f1's are the shot £90 a corner fitted at my local tyre place for 215/45/17 and thats the extra load ones, have heard the shoulder can wear but cant be as bad as toyos as the don't last even though there pretty sticky. Mate had michelins on his 330d beemer and couldn't fault them apart from price. Dunlop sp 9000's are rubbish got a set cheap for the last car and totally spoiled the feel of the front end.
scoobyseller555 Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Hope thats not you trying to sell stuff on here Phil[] Gav

colzo Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 cheers folks, i got a quote for Toyo T1-s 205 or 215/50/16 can't remember [:S](standard size), fitted for £310, hows that sound? IMO I would choose Toyo T1Rs rather than T1s mate.
TICHYS Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Vredestein Ultrac , that's what is on my car just now, dunno how expensive they are but seem pretty good. anybody got any info on these? i searched before but found nothin! i had f1's on ma wee saxo and they were quality.
thefastone Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Yeah, Loving me F1s - would fit them myself ANYTIME!!!! I just wished I had some fitted now, Currenly Ive Toyo Proxies on the front, and bridgstone Something-or-others on the back... Not really tested them out yet like.... but Not currently a fan, they are very noisey... just wait it out then fit me F1s on to them too! As for michelans, Ive never had a good set on any car, I know that I was running their winter tyres up untill yesterday (Ive been offshore for months, couldn't change them before now) the winter tyres are decent enough like - for what they are, but their supposed "sticky rubber" the pilots, I think are just crap... I had them on the scoob when I first got it, I hated them, couldn't find good grip anywhere, and they were worse in the wet... Belive me, no one hates Michelans more than me! So yeah...
l210lnf Posted June 27, 2007 Author Posted June 27, 2007 cool guys, settled for T1Rs, well could only try them! cheers for the advise

thewelsho Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Yes, avoid Khumos; almost had me in the ditch on Sunday. Big sideways moment on a tight rain-soaked bend; lots of oppostie lock and some gentle braking got it straight again, totally sh1t myself. Hoping to to get GY Eagle F1s in the next few months
speech Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 The scoob is currently running on F1's, can't fault them one bit and I had them on my Golf before I got rid aswell. It would take a very good tyre to make me get anything else in the future. When I had my CTR it was running the standard Bridgestone Potenza's (RE050 was it?? Cannae mind now) and whilst they were a great dry weather tyre, they made for some interesting moments in the wet![]
