  3. I may just pull up at the chippy and be nosy next time I see them! Got a Navara now - so will make sure I am in the P1 when I do - might look a bit odd otherwise!
  4. Actually that hits home pretty hard. The JR silver star unit saved my wife and daughters life 18months ago. Im in. Thanks for this.
  5. Heya, Years ago there used to be a group of scoob owners in the south who used to get together and deliver pressies to local hospices, childrens homes etc. I think it was called Santa Cruise - is this still going? I was kind of inspired by the HelpForHeros car at the prodrive meet and remembered that there used to be a few charity "Visits". Anyway - just wondering - Ill go now. M
  6. Forum looks good on iPhone - downloaded the iP board app anyway - but it doesnt connect to this forum - just thought I would let others know. M

  10. cool thanks - that isnt too far at all... and it is x-country
  11. Cheers! Funilly enough that is one of the cheape components of the car that turned our to be a really good buy - Hybrid FMIC. Cant knock it. Really wanted to keep as much of the standard P1 look as possible but you cant hide that thing can you!?!
  12. I cant believe how long it has been since I have been on here. I just checked my last post and it was 2009. I still have the P1 - although the only standard parts are the seats and the bodyshell! Been on a massive 4 year project/journey/money drain with the car. Running 450 BHP plus now with a simple plan to get to the magic 600. Full spec still here: northerngit.com Not sure if any old faces will be on here - but I have been a member for ages! Anyway - just popped in to say Hi and to look for some meets in and around the oxford area... and will remain active from now on - promise! Matt
  13. Mate - cant believe you finaly got rid - I thought the whole "selling up" thing was just something to talk about! Well you must be chuffed that you are looking for a new project! What about a Murtaya - Lotus elise / Scooby hybrid? Have a look here: Murtaya Pix Its my mates and it may be just the beast for you - its an animal! Failing that - can we tempt you back to the land of Prodrive Scoob? (I've had a little work done since the goodwood 'thing' that you may be interested in).
  14. Hello mate - you still got the green UKt? Never did contact that sprayer buddy of yours for the lotus - it still looks chipped to hell (and back!)
  15. Hey peeps - Havent been on here in ages - I am still in Reading and now have a P1 - currently at the s4u having a few "tweaks" Used to come to a few of your meets (B&Q)! Laters, M
  16. I Suspect none of these devices' readouts will match the speedo. I use a tom tom from time to time and the GPS readout on that is very different!
  17. I woul dlove a RA2 - was gonna get one and my mate said they dont show current speed limit - is that true?
  18. Hiya Mark, long time no speak - As you know my wife drives a stock S1 (1999). It is a complete hoot as a track car - but IMHO needs a bit of tweaking for more serious track work - stiffer suspension for one. That said - it has just had a full service and is reeeeeaaally a lovely car day to day - especially in the summer. It is frrrooookin lively in the wet, but if you are sensible and dont put your heavy right shoe on, it is actually a really grippy car. Also - it is well economical! The 2 major downsides as far as i am concerned: 1 - Cost - the service charges, parts, labour are all expensive - and we use a very resonable Ex Lotus local chap. 2 - Blue peter build - dont get me wrong - it goes, it runs, its engine, steering and brakes are good, but EVERYTHING else is misaligned, held together with glue or velcro (not kidding) and it is always the niggely things - the window wiper wont wipe, the window winder wont wind, the roof leaks, the mats dont stay down, the boot lid wont release 1 in 10 times. Bottom line - the car has real character, very good fun, looks much better than the S2s, is very nippy Taz loves it to death - wont part with it! But the cost of maintaining it, and the mechano set approach - you have to really love it to put up with it. Ill mail you Tazs email address - she will be only to happy to help - but she may be a little bias!
  19. Big sorry for this turning into a "tell me your worst.." thread.. But - This is brill! its like when I was a student reading the True stories in the back of FHM!
  20. Glad I can be of service and keep y'all laughin' As an aside - I got the bandage on my side wet while shaving. I went to replace it antd found a 2 inch stitchline when it I was told it was only the size of a penny! Oh - and the tube this morning was a little uncomfortable! Ill be at the next Jap Meet in Reading if y'all want to point and laugh - Just dont come near me with a flamer kit!
  21. I know - You couldnt make this Shr!t up! Mr Matt-Basil-NorthernGit-Faulty Bean
