If I was going to mod a UK Turbo from standard spec then thats pretty much exactly what I'd have fitted too. It will be an amazing road car once mapped up mate.

Hi Grant,
I think I may have raced you down the strip, I was in a V3 type R, I may have asked you to move to the left lane so I could take a video ?
Hi buddy, yeah that was me that you raced... had gearchange issues on our run!! Whats the spec of your car? Sounded like its got headers cause there wasnt much burble?

Its a tasty sounding long block you've got there matey, what turbo are you going to be strapping to this G-to-the-Mac-Fizzle??

Cheers Grant, are you going to TOTB?
I couldn't have picked a better driver than Colin.
Not going to make TOTB, going away on holiday in a few weeks... will be following the results with great interest though, your car should be pretty damn competitive at the level its at I'd have thought.

Re-live the joy of owning a late UK Turbo... buy mine!! Its already got all the mods you'd likely want (6-spd box, defi gauges, 338bhp etc), and only 53-54k miles too.

That is wild. I can't wait to see how this thing does against all the other big boys, all the best at TOTB mate.

How did you get on Grant?
Had real difficulty getting off the line matey, spinning through 1st and some of 2nd gear too... still managed to do a 13.2 @ 104/105mph though which wasn't too shabby given the conditions.

Classic with the correct Newage bits and bobs make for the best package IMO... if I was to return to a newage, then I'd have another Hawkeye STi cause I absolutely LOVE the aggro front end on them.

Hi there, just seeing if anyone in the Falkirk area is going to be up in Perth/Dundee over the next wee while?? My girlfriend left a pair of welly boots in a courtesy car we got from Ian Grieves and I'm not keen on the huge trip through and back just for a pair of boots... although, I'm also not willing to just sack them off since I've not long bought them and they weren't exactly cheap?!
So I thought that if anyone from down that way was passing Grieves and coming up this way, then I could meet them and collect the boots??

Out of the cars you're considering, I'd probably go for the Focus RS.
However, with that sort of cash burning a hole in my pocket, I'd be looking along the lines of a BMW 335d and then getting an Evolve Re-Map on the thing... mmmmm torque-tastic, but then you have already had a BMW. However although the service costs are slightly higher, they are at far longer intervals than most of the more focused stuff in your list so I think it'd even itself out to a negligable difference in the long run.

As long as you can launch the Impreza properly then you'll find the same outcome, you'll beat him off the line and around about half to 2/3rds the way down he'll start to reel you in.

if you go straight for sti and miss wrx and uk turbos you will be happier with it for longer
......depends on the UK Turbo.

Never had a problem with Revolution before, pretty much had the same experience as The Glynster.

How much are you looking to spend on the car, since that might give us a better idea what sort of models are within your grasp??

I was in the DBB heading in the opposite direction (towards Dundee) this afternoon... this car looked very tidy, STi Lights, FMIC etc... anyone here know it?

rs grant broke them taking them off the car. so they were binned
Hahaha, incorrect!!
mind the car with the amazing mods that made it the fastest scoob in europe or something......then got hosed onThat the tosser with the Cusco WRX RA with the ECU that senses when you fit new mods and modifies itself accordingly... I think its crazy that an intelligent ECU like that never took off?!

If it was the seals then oil would pass on the over-run, which Jim said isn't happening?

Thanks for the heads up Kevin, shouldn't have needed to do it in the 1st place IMO... if it ain't broke, etc etc... but its only a click to switch it back.

If its still the same engine that Dave put in, then I'm pretty sure its got forged pistons etc fitted... the car was absolutely bang on back in the day (even when it was sitting on 19" wheels!!), remember it sitting in a dealers a wee while ago and someone sticking a thread up about it.
Stick some photos and a spec list of the car up now mate.

Who was the former owner on here? Got a username, further details, pics etc??

Seems a bit irish to me, buying a car for 4-5k and then buying a load of mods to make it a 6k car without the full list of bits fitted that my car has for c6k... but its your decision?!
FAO people that have got in touch with me, if I decide to break bits off the car, then I'll stick a thread up in the For Sale section with details, prices and pics.

I did just under 90 miles from full to petrol light appearing on my old Hawkeye STi running 355/390... but that was on a Knockhill Track Day. Normal driving would yield about 170 from a tank, which is still absolutely sh!te IMO.
My current car will do 220-230 around the town and normal pottering around, it will do 200 absolutely minimum after using it for spirited driving and then on a run it will do about 300-320 without much hassle. I got over 350 miles after I picked it up and sat on the motorway on the way home at c80mph with a couple of 120+ blasts against an RS6.

Grant
