Has Anyone heard of a company called Vehiclelink?
Edinburgh-Chris replied to Edinburgh-Chris's topic in Scottish Scoobies
http://www.blagger.com/db4/company_id/3810...hicle-Link.html This link explains all, when they phone me back i am going to give them abuse so they get the message! I thought it was a con and reading all the comments made it sounds like a well organised/ thought out idea which is can only be described as common day Fraud! Cheers, Chris -
As the title says folks, they keep phoning me and telling me that they have a number of buyers interested in my car and can arrange viewings for me this weekend if i sign up. It costs £99.99 and if they don't sell the car within 14days then they return the money.........also the viewers who come out to see it are not allowed to haggle the money in any way. I am gauranteed to get my money that i have advertised it at! Is it just me or does it sound too good to be true? There must be some history about them but i can't find anything at all on the web. All comments welcome, Chris

A picture of mine mate. You have a crap connection. When it comes to a front mount/ BOV all connectinos need to be sealed well or the internal pressure will expose this at all times. Ie. Crap boost and most likely a CEL on display.
-
Sounds like there is a leak somewhere! Have you removed any of the piping for the intercooler? I might be the dump valve mate, if you are running crap boost then you are leaking somewhere prior to the throttle body. So many things mate, everyone would be guessing/ firing answers back and forth at you. Check the ECU fault code and work from there. Get a boost gauge hooked up and see what you are running at but don't drive it like you stole it. You might find you are running at 0.5Bar. All the best, keep an open mind. Sometimes a loose hose or a split connection is all it is.

"So Last Year" To be honest, it actually so two years ago!!! I got mine for my Scoob when it was still on the boat from Japan and that must have been around June'04. I honestly think they look the dangles but i would say that. Free BTTT and good luck with the sale, Chris

WIY White Subaru with black bonnet - N** AMS - Penicuik
Edinburgh-Chris replied to Dougie C's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Spotted again, Yes it was my unsold Subaru! The space where it was parked is where my new flat is. Nadia had it this afternoon for scooting about. What Impreza do you have; there seems to be a lot more in Penicuik at the moment. I think there must be at least 10 all together that give me a wave. Chris -
Hi Folks, just got into this thread and thought i would point out that i have a cold air feed on my classic which has been on for about 10months or so.....no problem so far and i really can't hear much difference. I got mine made custom style by Steve Whitson through here in Edinburgh, fantastic workmanship and has done work in the past and presently with some serious subaru's I attach a photo for a bit of information, Cheers, Chris

WIY Spotted Edinburgh_Chris i think
Edinburgh-Chris replied to STi_Bandit's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Howdy, Yeah it was me mate, i was siting my CBT so i can drive my scooter now to work and back! It would have been me also at the straiton roundabout also, i live just around the corner. To be honest today, i noticed at least 6 scoobies.....a nice STi8 with lots of graphics and stickers. Cheers, Chris -
Either that or the boost is set at a stupid level....ie far too high! If you incorrectly plumb in the boost solenoid valve, this can also cause the revs to "Shoot up". Don't jump to conclusions yet mate, it might be a simple case of a loose hose whereby there is nothing regulating the turbo. Have a good look under the bonnet at all the hoses on the left hand side......follow them all and check each connection. Cheers, Chris

Stevie Whitson in Roslin can do this sort of thing no problem; that if he is not too busy as always working on silly power impreza's. Drop me a line if interested and i will phone him tonight! Cheers, Chris

http://www.118118team.com/ Visit this site folks......it's actually better than the real thing! Click on the top clip. I think there is five but the top one is the winner! Regards, Chris

Hi Fee, I also live in Edinburgh and have had a couple of near incidents. The best idea my cousin came up with was to buy a nice Momo steering wheel and get a snap off boss! Take the steering wheel out every night and generally that will get ride of the majority of punks. www.motorsportworld.co.uk He works for this company so if you want to go down this route give them a call. Hope all goes well and try getting your local neighbourhood watch involved; that sounds so silly but the one around my way actually seems to have a decent bit of respect from the local police and they ahve managed to get things done in the past. As mentioned by a couple of guys previous, if they want it, they will be persistant! A small length of 10mmSQ Steel wire armour cable with a gland on the end of it is always my favourite in the door side pocket! Chin up, Chris

Where are you , regarding insurance
Edinburgh-Chris replied to ian_finlayson's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I also have the girlfriend as the policy holder, she is 23, i am 24 and neither of us have any points, claims or accidents on our history. Elephant requoted us for our 4th year of insurance for an import STi-2 with all modifications noted.......£714 as of the 18th May. We thought that was cheap but the award must be for my new toy....Aprilia Habana 125 scooter. Quote for the both of us fully comprehensive, some were coming in at £950!!!! WTF, we own a fairly modded group20 STi with no problem but the scooter seems to create crazy insurance money. Can't explain insurance, they have their own theories! Chris -
Both myself and Wilky have custom made units which are amazing for letting your car breath properly. I might have some photo's on the PC for you to have a look at. PM the price of the unit from Australia and i will see if the guys can match it/ beat it. I will be honest, they probably with as delivery from Aus aint cheap! Chris

NO Optimax at Dreghorn on the Edinburgh Bypass, A7 at Gorebridge and at the back end of Easthouses! A bit of a bugger for me being at the south of Edinburgh, crappy 97ron Super unleaded at the moment. Chris

Howdy Calum, Replied to your PM. Chris

Thats not exactly true, in theory they can get to big for your performance and "laggy" some times. The aim is getting one thicker and piped into in the form TEBE (Top Entry, Bottom Exit) so that the most amount of core is used. Try aiming for about 75-100mm thick, mine is 75mm but the last one i seen was 100mm and a serious piece of kit. Chris
-
I got my front mount kit made up by a couple of guys in Edinburgh that are well in the know how with Impreza's! To be honest, the secret lies within the core, if you can get a decent core then the pipe work is the easy part, just try and have as little breaks in the pipework. I can ask them for a quote, they will always offer help/ advice to fellow subaru owners. There is two routes to go down when buying a FMIC kit, firstly spend stacks of money on a well know brand ie. HKS, Greddy, Perrin, APS, Blitz...Etc or you get someone to source you a decent core and get them to do the piping. I did the second option and to be honest this is more efficient in terms of cost and there ain't any difference is performance that is noticable to the trained eye. All the best, oh and i guess you will be arranging a reMAP prior to driving about with it fitted! Chris

Side stepping will almost kill the cutch if done a couple of times! Not recomended in my opinion, hold the biting point at the point of boost just kicking in, 2750-3000rpm and let it up gently, my classic has only been exposed to crail once and i did not like it at all. You can't beat corners, straight lines are'nt exposing your 4 wheel drive. Chris
-
Well done Calum, i am really glad all the hard work is beginning to show its worth! The engine bay looks good, some fantastic engineering that needs recognition. I might pop over to Greer Sport for a questions and Answers session with the guys about some things for my car.......don't think money nor girlfriend will allow me to go down your route though! All the best my friend, Chris

I have a set of 2pots on the back of my classic and i never used any of these fancy looking brackets that guys are making and selling for silly amounts! All we did was weld two lugs onto the existing brackets, ground and paint treated! I have had mine on for a year, done some serious braking and even changed the discs without a slight flaw, to be honest i got the calipers that cheap i could not justify spending more on a set of sexy brackets......Improvise! At least this won't affect any of us . . . . . . .
Edinburgh-Chris replied to ally-b's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Here here Andy, the fact is, you go to the shops or the pub and have a fall out with someone over something like the football, you leave as thats better than fighting them and they phone the police and explain nicely that you tore the tar from the road at 6000rpm and was smelling of drink in the process.....all of a sudden you are the criminal and Mr Police Officer talks to you like your stuck to his boot! This Country gets worse and worse, now if someone annoys you on the road you must phone and grass them up prior to them doing it to you!!! Fantastic idea Mr Blair, you got my vote next time Sunshine. Edinburgh-Chris replied to ally-b's topic in Scottish Scoobies
A certain person i know from round my way got a ASBO Warning issued by the police as one of his Neighbours complaned about the loudness of his exhaust......he is no boy racer and has plenty to worry about. The way it works is only one person needs to make a formal complaint and thats enough for an ASBO warning to be placed on your name, the car and the owner of the car for 12months. If you are caught doing anything in your car for example, using the phone whilst driving, running an amber light or cutting someone up then they now have the power to remove your car from you........or the car you are driving, even if it's a company car or a Lothian bus, they take it off you. Then you have to pay £105 + £12 for every night they hold your car in storage and you still have the worry of the punishment for the actual road traffic violation! More TAX on the British road user and some people on here assume that only NEDS in Saxo's need to worry. You have been warned folks, i am certainly not crying wolf on this one. Chris -
Here is the progression of a NASIOC members turbos
Edinburgh-Chris replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
If it am not mistaken that turbo is a T3/T4 (T70) and it requires an external wastegate. The actual size of it when bolted to a EJ20 engine is just comedy to be honest! I am sure thats the same turbo my uncle Adam has bolted to his Saphire Cossie prior to selling it, and that ran 450Bhp easy. I can only imagine the the power that unit can deliver, Good bye cruel world! -
Here is the progression of a NASIOC members turbos
Edinburgh-Chris replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
The turbo on the left is actually the exact one i am hoping to get installed in the summer! The guys doing the work are currently trying it out right now one of their cars, and trust me the actual size of th e thing is SCARY when its next to a standard TD05. Its a shame the thing will probably destroy everything else on my Scooby but these things happen! Chris
