  1. I have just recently had a bhp developments stamp put in my service book. Russell often does not claim for time that he takes to do the job right. Lets just say I said "is that all" when he told me how much it was. Add that to the 35+ hours he spent on the mods to my car and you cant fault him [Y]
  2. I have to say that the garage was unlocked. Totally bizarre that they only took the wheels though. I reckon someone has seen me coming out of the garage in the car or seen the wheels there when the car has been getting washed. Police took less than half an hour to turn up for the finger print check. Well impressed! No prints though. Really annoyed as they were perfect condition.
  3. Some cheeky fecker has been in the garage today and pinched my standard alloys. Totally immaculate set of 16 " MY95/96 WRX vintage with some just about legal tyres. Just to make folks aware in case any pop up for sale anywhere [8o|] They left various power tools alone for some reason [*-)]
  4. I get a lot of comments about how mint my '93 looks, but that thing is even better. 2 things I would do though: 1 lose the stripe down the side 2 Change those rear lights to either standard or a nice set of Sti lights, those make a very nice car look a bit chav. []
  5. Fantastic, there should be a lot more of this! [Y]
  6. You've no chance mate, my Mundano will hit 60 in 10.5 with a fair wind. Top speed is at least 118! They didnt do a passat VR6 estate did they?[]
  7. I'll give you a race down the strip at Crail. My Mundano v your Passat! [] Maybe even knockhill !
  8. Yeah I'm more of a scoobynet dweller and just pop over here briefly every so often. I'll leave Wuz to advise on where to go with yours as I've come at the modding from a more humble WRX [] His car is nigh on identical to yours without the mods. My car was going great, but then the weather turned not so good so thats it until next spring. The trusty modeo has been set free once again! I've seen you on the drive occasionally, but you cant blame me for being in my own world at pre 8am!
  9. Apexi do good induction kits aswell. List is endless for your car Ross! FMIC, headers, injectors, turbo, re-maps, AVC-R, heat management etc. At least you have an excellent base to start from, so shouldn't need to spend massive amounts to get great gains.
  10. Its the bit that you run a 22B in the winter that I cant get over. Most of us would cherish one and I wouldn't let it near any nasty salty roads. The joys of being loaded I suppose! []
  11. Its torque that kills gearboxes. Early ones cant take 300 ft/lb+ for any great length of time, though driver input has a lot to do with it []
  12. I think you'll find you have too much power for the box rather than using the wrong oil [] An Sti 4/5/6 box, or if you're feeling flush (£1,500+) a later 6 speed will sort it. I'm just counting the days until my old box gives up and I'll be in the same position []
  13. I've got some HKS unequal jobbies and it has changed the rumble a bit. Its still noticably a Subaru to about 3,000 rpm, then things start to change and all hell breaks loose at about 4,500 rpm. Bonerfying is the description above and thats good enough for me [] Whatever you do, dont buy the cheap ebay/megan types as they have a bad reputation for splitting in a short space of time.
  14. Good point []
  15. Russell, dont do it mate. You've spent 40+ hours on my car and I am delighted as my beastie has been transformed into a road rocket [] You take the time to do the jobs right and dont try to sell any bits that owners dont need. Message is clear here - why go to a place that will cost two or three times as much and do a worse job? BHP Developments Must Live On!!!! Apart from anything else, it'd mean taking the bhp sticker off my car []
  16. Carl, I remember the fridge V1 very well and followed the story with great interest [] My car actually hit 1.5 bar peak [6] on the rollers, so there certainly isn't an issue there. I think Simon's words were "holy shit" when the boost pressure was off the graph on the printout [] I too expected more and I think I will try wp to satisfy my curiosity. Like I said though, the difference on the road from 1.2 to 1.45 is marked to say the least. I'm starting to agree with those above that RRs are irrelevant []
  17. I'm not for one minute suggesting that any rolling road tuners would manipulate figures, but it risks creditability when the RR results depend on what the operator tells it to do. If an RR operator also maps engines, then the unscrupulous ones may be tempted to make your car's power appear to be less than it is. Then by magic, an RR re-map produces the required figures.......
  18. Hmmm, Carl thats not so good. I was thinking about running mine on wp as I wasn't happy with my post re-map re-run at jap-performance. At the RR day it got 300 bhp @ 1.2 bar........ Post Andy F map to 1.45 bar it got 303 bhp. To say I was surprised is an understatement. As Andy says, its not about peak bhp, but even still I wasn't expecting that! Its just shit-loads faster and the rollers post an extra 3 bhp [*-)] At least on wp, you get a torque figure I suppose. I dont have one at the moment.
  19. Its still alive according to this: http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks Manufacturer SUBARU Model IMPREZA TURBO 2000 AWD Body type 4 DOOR SALOON Colour BLUE Fuel type PETROL Date manufactured 31 December 1999 Number of previous owners 3 Last owner change 10 May 2006
  20. I dont have a wife, that would just be taking it too far [] She likes quick cars, but she really wouldn't be interested in it I'm afraid.
  21. Some of us get enough grief at home for our car obsessions without making it an even bigger part of our lives [] No ditch her comments please []
  22. I was there on Thursday []
  23. That is so much better than gold, go for it! [H]
